Yeah they are but most cops don't bother with you only when they are new and they want to be a "badass". But as long as you do the proper procedures they most likely won't give you a ticket. Like roll down your windows before the come to the vehicle. And don't be rude to them.

Inspection?

I run 15 percent on the back and sides plus factory tint and i wont lie to you at night its hard to see where i am backing into and what not. But than again i don't have LED's in the back on my truck so that could make a huge difference too.

im not worried about night driving
i already have double layered 5% on my back window haha and it sucks backing up at night but i love having a dark cab

im just worried about failing inspection for having tint on the windshield..

to the OP if i were to tint my windshield id go 50% for the sake having less of a chance of the cops giving you crap...if it was legal id do 35%

After seeing all the replies in this thread I think I'm gonna go ahead and get mine done. I will most likely stay with 50% although the 35% would probably be fine.

i thought about tinting mine but no way man. do u guys know how tint works? the more like shined onto it, the more reflective it is, as in the sun on the outside of the car makes the windows look like a mirror but when u sitting in the car u can see perfectly out. if you tint the front and have all the windows down and the sun hits the tints from inside, good luck. it always happens with my 5% tints when i have a window down.

I still cannot believe so many people have their windshields tinted, lol. I thought I was pushing it wanting 20% all the way around.

welp guys, i did it. i woke up this morning and was the first in line. at first i went for the 50% but they looked blueish...so i had the guy put a strip on and yep..didnt like it. i was already there so i said what the heck i didnt drive here to get nothing so i said the heck with it and got the 35% done. so far its alright you can definantly tell it is tinted lol. but now that i have it i know for a fact i would not have been happy with the 50. so we'll see its still light out so the drive home from work oughta be fun! ill let you guys know, thanks for all the input.

Keep in mind, in FL, a tinted windshield is a moving violation and 3 points on your license per ticket. That starts to add up real quick when your talking a basic moving citation is close to $200.00. And if your tint on your remaining windows is illegal, you can be cited one ticket per window. In essence, you could get enough citations to suspend your license; you only need 12 points in 12 months here in FL. Trust me I know, I am a cop.

As I said earlier, anything lower than the AS1 line on the windshield is illegal and you probably will get stopped and cited. Tint on windshields is illegal for a reason, it reduces your visibility especially at night. Do what you want though.
