Now I have to decide to do it this way or just tint my fogs

Hows the light output?
You gotta paint them. The output has not changed at all noticeably. They look just as bright as before. I'll get some photos soon.

Dredging up an oldie. :o

I just scored some fogs in the classifieds and will be painting them before I install them. How long do I have to cook them in the oven for in order to separate the lenses from the covers??

not long, the fogs pop apart pretty easy!!! like 5 mins max i'd say and you should be able to get em apart em.

way way easier than the headlights!!!

just remember, DO NOT smoosh the tape down onto the part you want to keep chrome, just barely lay it on there.

goot luck stealth, been waitin on you to get this done!

post pics asap

Will do, it's going to look good.

I'm assuming the temp is ~250*?

All right. Thanks. The lights came in today.

So did you guys remove the bracket off the back of the housing before cooking them?

Light #2 separated. man, that was easy. The taping and painting will make up for it. I think I'll use paper for the majority of the masking and tape around the very edges.

Did any of you scuff up the chrome first?

Also, what type of spray paint do you guys use to paint them? I believe I am going to go with gloss since I have HD heads, to match.

OK, I was lightly wiping down the chrome since I washed the lights, that crap comes off if you look at it funny!

I'm going to have to be creative with the taping, that cheapo chrome has me worried.

i know... im bout to just buy two more and do it again. i have had both of mine blow bulbs a couple time, there is a vent hole above the bulb and mine has had water drip down onto the bulbs and shatter them. then you gotta open em up again and do it all over. my chrome is really taking a beating.

its worth all the work though cuz they look super sharp when they are right.

good luck. waitin on pics
