be advised that if its a plastic grille the lights might get a bit hot for them. if i run mine for a while just sitting there, my stainless steel grille gets hot really quick!

I would also worry about it getting too hot and melting. It would depend alot on the lights you want to put behind them. I would think moving you would be okay, maybe? sitting still mine with the new 100w bulbs get flippin hot fast.
the setup posted is also very similar to mine, id recommend solid aluminum though. If you can find my old gallery (7787) i have alot of pics in there. There is a better mounting place lower down by the tranny cooler for lower supports, and like the one pictured you should use the sensor/thermometer mount hole for suppor in the middle, after i did that it took alot of the "vibration" out of the lights. Most people just mount from the bottom though.

HID's would also get pretty hot. If you mounted them farther back than everyone else, and watched how you used them i would think there should be no problem? You could try something like a 55w to start with. I just put 100w bulbs in my hella 500's that came with 55w bulbs.
