Nightshades - I did it.

Well, I have done this to my last two cars so it was nothing new to me. I told myself I wouldn't do it to my truck due to inspection reasons. However, I recently quit smoking and needed something to do with my hands before I lost my mind so I went into the garage to fart around and straighten up a bit. Well, I found my can of nightshades, Special clear coat and painters tape and next thing I knew.... this is what I have. 3 coats Nightshades and 4 coats of a special clear that I use to do these tails.

Before

After

Before final clear coat

Done

I think your lawn changed more drastically than your taillights did.

Looks great.

Yeah, I have never sprayed mine that dark. I like them tinted. If I wanted them black, I would have painted them. lol.

The before pic is from when I first got the truck. The exhaust came along last weekend. I try to find something new to do to it every weekend. Its helps me to not smoke.

What do you guys think of blacking out the badges? Logos and F150 badges? Maybe black with chrome letters?

Yes and thankfully I still keep some cold ones handy while I work. lol But yes, I do miss the smoke. Oh well.

Hey, here is a photoshop I did of where I want to go with the back end. shaved badges and handle and I tinted my back window darker. Thoughts?

I have an hvlp gun coming and I have everything else I need to paint it. I need to refine my paint and body skills before I take the plunge. I also need a tailgate handle relocation kit.

You relocate it to the inside of the tailgate. Reverse mount it.

What do you guys think about doing the whole taillight, including the reverse light? I have fog lights under my body to help with backing up at night (I have 2.5% window tint on the rear window).
