Painting headlights.

Hey guys i am in the process of painting my headlights.Right now i am letting the paint cure till tommorow night. Then i get to seal them up.I have found the most important part is sealing them up and i want to get a few pointers.I bought some permatex black rtv silicone gasket maker. Will this stuff work?I am hoping i bought the right stuff.I will tell yall what,so far i didnt screw up but what a pain in the azz.I will never do this again. But for the fact that i saved 200-300 bucks on this does make the work worth it.I will post pics when its all done.

I used RTV Silicone on my headlight when I painted them and it turned out just fine, they haven't fogged yet so im pretty happy but it is a pain to paint the headlights.
