I don't have a reg. cab, I have a suprecab but I have 5% all the way around with 35% on the windshield wiht a 5% strip. Yea.... it's dark but I wouldn't like if it wasn't dark. You get a good feeling when you can drive down the street and not see all the random people just staring into your truck like they will do if they can see in your truck. You can see everybody but they can't see you. Don't be scared to go dark... it's not that bad. You get used to it and if you back up, you can just roll down the window.

First off.....

I have a question for all of you guys.....

Weren't your rear windows already medium dark tint from the factory ??? Mine were....
Which would have made it kind of a PITA to try and get all of the windows the same darkness level. But I knew I couldn't go as dark on the fronts, as I was on the rears anyway, because I didn't want to have to be ripping it right back off next week, after I got pulled over by the police.

So anyway, I couldn't tell you exactly what my rear windows are now, as they were like a 15% from the factory, and we put 10% over that.... So what's 10% of 15% (I mean, I know that theoretically, that would be 1.5%, but I don't think they are that dark) ? All I can say is, my back windows are really dark ! I'm guessing about 3% or 4%. On my front's, we ended up going with 15%. I think it would look a little better if it were really dark like the back windows.... but again, I didn't want to increase the chances for a "forced removal, by the police", plus I have to say, it does make night time maneuvering, and backing, somewhat easier.

Peace,
Fish

Peace,
Fish

I put 20% on my fronts which matches the stock 18% rear window tint almost perfectly. Its plenty dark enough for me since i drive a lot in the early morning for hunting/fishing.

ok if you want to go totally legal.......its 35 in the front , 20 in the back two, and 5 on the rear...........if you just dont want to have ANY trouble with the cops then you can get 18% in the front four and 5% in the back with no trouble at all i promise......also i can get it done for you for around 125 for high performance carbon tint which is the lifetime tint at my old job if youre interested

thats a good idea buckles. i live in texas and the darkest you can have on your front 2 windows is 35 percent. but you wont get hassled for 25 usually. i am going to redo my truck later this year with 5% on the back 3 windows and 15-25% on the front.

I feel like if you are gonna tint your windows then what's the point of having lightly tinted windows. I think it is not worth paying money to just have a little darker tint added to the window. Like they say, "Go big or go home!'' I'm probably gonna hear alot of haters on this one but where I live---memphis, They never pull anyone over even if you have like 1% because they would have to pull over WAAAY too many cars here because of all the people here.

murkedout, I agree with you. I don't understand why people go with light tint unless the police are really bad, but around here they aren't. I was worried about when I had mine done the first time, but now after knowing a few other people in town that haven't had any trouble I don't see a reason to have 20% on.

I don't have a reg. cab, have an ext. cab. I have mine tinted with 2.5% on the rear and ext. cab windows. Then I have 20% on the drivers/passenger side windows and a 5% sun strip. The 20% and 5% is about 3 years old and done by a friend. I just did the rear and ext. cab windows.

I may go back in a few months redo the 20% with 5%, but haven't decided yet.

And just a note, my truck did not have any factory tint on any windows, not even a sun strip.

i agree with yall as well.if the police in your area arent that bad then i would just limo it out.or just get it done and when you see a cop roll the driver side window down.polivce only check the front windows if any at all.i have 5% all around and love it.i find on a regualr cab truck it doesnt seem as dark.
