You guys are lucky! The cops dont have much of a sense of humor when it comes to window tint here in Ohio. Or at least where I live anyway. I did mine myself with 20% on the back and 35% on the sides and I still get a little nervous when I pass a cop. Sure its not black but im happy with it. Definitely improve its appearance though. I'm not a hater...I think limo tint looks great..... but I would have to disagree. I think there are very few places where there isn't atleast one cop who dislikes window tint. I plan to tint my front two windows to match the factory rear....15 or 20%...haven't decided yet. I think it will be a nice improvement with going too illegal . If you have ever had to take tint off then you know you want to avoid that if possible. It ain't fun.

 

go w/ 5% on the back 20% on the sides and a 5% strip on the windshield, you shouldnt have any troubles, i have 20% on my front two windows and dont have trouble with the cops at all but its still dark, i have the number of a mobile guy in our area if you want it just PM me, BTW i am gonna finally go to a TTS meet friday night

honestly buckles,....and believe me cause ive had it happen to me on all my cars....when you get your tint...youre most likely going to wish you got darker.....but i understand that you dont want to get in bad with the po po so if i were you id do 18% carbon on the front and 5% carbon on the back...you probably wont regret it...

 

I would reccomend putting on 5% or darker if it's possible. There's nothing to worry about. I just roll down the window whenever I get to paranoid about cops but I've sat at a light right next to a state trooper and plenty of other cops and they'll just stare at my windows and look like a complete idiot beacuse they can't see me looking at them grinnin'. After they do that they just go on about there buisness.

 

Lol I'm not paranoid I just get the creeps whenever some weird people just stare at you for what feels like forever. And I mostly got my tint so dark for security. I've had my radio stolen already and I'm tired of people just being able to see what's in my truck. I don't know why people buy tint for cooling the interior because I went from having like absolutely zero tint on any of my windows except the 3 rear windows had like 50% from the factory. My truck still gets hot as crap even with the windshield tinted 35%.

 

people stare at me alllllllllllllllllll the time!!! it pisses me off so much. i got 15% on the two fronts and i put 5% on the rear glass. looks sick. i called up my buddy at the tint shop on saturday but he couldnt fit me in. he said he was crazy packed. im going 5% all around.

 

the guys name is robert and his number is 281-630-4829 does good work, not the cheapest but its worth it in my opinion, he charged me 100 even and that included the road fee, the upgrade to premium window film, removing old tint and this was for my front 2 windows and the little quarter glass panels

 

PA laws for truck & SUVs is 35% in fronts, rears unlimited, I got a 20% all around kit and cops aren't a real big issue here ( though I do boarder NY where the cops are ****** ) and I'm kinda worried about it, but it shouldn't be that bad. Im anxiousl waiting for a day I can do it all.

 

I am so jealous of all you cats with your dark tint jobs...here in MI, I wouldn't dare going with the 5% all the way around. I have a doctors note and STILL afraid to go any darker than 20%

The thing is, "what is legal" varies from state to state. The guy who did my tint, told me that as it stands, "ANY" tinting of the front windows, other than what comes stock from the factory, is illegal in CA. And have you noticed that NO new vehicles have any more than just the UV reflecting tint, to cut down the glare, on the front windows, with hardly enough darkening effect to even notice ?

I'm pretty happy with my tint as it is though. Plus, the tint guy did a great job on it. No flaws or dust specs that I've found yet. I guess if their were no laws regarding tint, I'd probably have my fronts as dark as my backs.... But that would make it harder for night driving anyway, so......
