lights behind grille
lights behind grille
Im thinking of getting either the rousch or the saleen grille and i want to mount 2 6inch lights behind it, anyone have instructions on doing this, or where to mount them.
Also if someone has a pic of this setup, that would be helpful.

I have lights behind my grille. It requires a fair amount of fabrication for the bracketry, or it did on my part cause im extremely picky. The only down side is i did not keep measurements. I dont know of anyone having ever posted and measurements or how-to's on the subject. Lots of people have done this mod tho, and it looks good IMO.

there is more pics of the actual setup in my "mods" gallery.

here is the truck currently. i think the lights add a ton to the front end. i get plenty of people asking about them and where to buy....
most lose interest when the find out there is fab work required. I dont have either grille you listed either, i have a CW but you get the idea. Im not sure about the wider bars with the grilles you mentioned, plus those grilles are plastic and these lights get hott in there...

^^^ Not a problem if you are moving. I have 2x 100W H3-ST's in mine and even though my grille is stainless steel, they hold a decent temp if the truck is moving. If you are a "slow mover" with a plastic grille, just move them back a bit further.
ya. but your lights arent near as big as the ones in the pics above. they produce alot more heat

Just go to my gallery for complete pictures and instructions. (Many before you have.) And don't worry about melting your grill unless you mount something massive 1/2" from the grill. I have a pair of 130 watt Hellas back there with no problems.
