Line of fire
I was just looking at the line of fire LED bar on Alon's site and have a question. Does the tailgate have to come off for installation? Are these easy to install? Do they last a long time or is it common for LED's to burn out? Also, I am assuming that a regular bed (not stepside) takes the 60" bar?
It makes it a lot easier to install with the tailgate out of the way. LED's last a lot longer than a traditional bulb. And the 60" is for full size styleside beds, the 49" is for flaresides and rangers.
LED's last up to 6x longer than regular filment bulbs. unless it is beaten to death and abused, cracked, etc that will last a LOT longer than your Ford.
ice feature on mine is VERY handy if you tow or do backing up at night (like carports, garages, etc. lights up VERy nicely and I reccommend getting LED reverse lights to aid this.

ME TOO!!! So i got the wild cat and grinded that hoe off. Lol
I would drill holes and screw it on. The stick on tape will eventually fail and it will fall off!!!!

The Fire & Ice ones are a waste of extra dough. They DON'T light anything up. It's just for show. I guess if you like looking cool for those 4 seconds you're backing up, get it. I sold my RECON Fire & Ice to friend for the same price I bought it and bought myself the regular Line of Fire.

Mine light up WAY better than my stock reverse bulbs. Might be different because the 04+ have bigger reverse light housings, but the 97-03 have practically no reverse lighting back there. it helps me tremendously.
