Help!!!. I got my amp. How do you hook a 4 channel amp to drive 1 sub? It has high and rca imputs. I only have 1 rear speaker that works... How do I wire the input into it? Thanks guys!

 

Do you have the stock radio???

If so, you will either have to:
1. Buy a Line Out Converter...it taps into your speaker wire, then converts that signal into low RCA outputs.
or....
2. Tap into your speaker wires and run that wire back to the HI inputs on the amp.

Is your sub 4 ohm? If so, you should be able to bridge like the rear channels on the amp to run the sub.

Then you will still have 2 channels that you can hook up to your front speakers or something.

Id check all the wiring on that back speaker that doesnt work to start off with.

Hey I think my advents are shot - idunno But the paper part of it's ripped, like deteriorated - from storage I bet .. Man I hope they can be fixed. I'll prolly post the pics around 10 pm tonight ..

That sucks about the speakers. I guess Im not sure what part your talking about yet, but there are ways to repair some things.

 

Mann, I hope so..Opened a can of worms kinduh ..Well first, My seat bolts wouldn't freakin budge - heated them up one at a time - most came , had to torch a few and re-tap, so did that - removed the kick plates and found so muck corrosion it looked like Lime disease. Replaced rotted wires - soldered w/rosin Core and shrink-wrapped , Tapped then add a protective sleeve to all the ones I fixed - I couldn't even get continuity to the grounds bolted to the body lol - Fixed that removed the rest of the carpeting , ran some wire , took 55 pictures of everything around me went threw all my speakers and some I forgot about -
12" Technics 200watt - 8 Ohms
My Pioneers are 6x8's 220watt - 4 Ohms
Kenwood 6x8's 100watt - 4 Ohms

Now for the Advents (made by Jenson Co.) - I found the info and the receipt , I paid $507 for the pair - thought I paid more but , Nope!- Any way the info reads ferrofluid filled

(Nominal) - 6 ohms
(Minimum) - 4 ohms

Power handling (peak)- 600 watts - (RMS) 150 watts.

The 6x8's fit perfectly in the doors. The Pioneer's say on the box - "Designed for Fords/Mazda"

Any way , think there a way I can fix the advents ? Seem like I could - heres some pics -

Ouch! Your surround is totally gone
Check out PartsExpress.com, they might have a repair kit you can use. If you can find a surround, then you can repair it pretty easily.

Are you going to be using four of those Advents, or just two?
Have you though about using the two 12 inch Technics instead?

Any idea what the specs are on that amp?
You will probably be able to bridge that amp and run your Advents off it, door speakers off the CD players power, and your set.

 

look for a recone kit..... or call the manufactuer and ask for one, the motor is still good but you'll need a new cone assembly kit since the voice coil migh not be centered in the gap anymore

 

A guy - friend of if the family had his son put install my Amp - It reall never ran right - One speaker would quit woking and one woutld sound good and other times I coouldn't Jam anything because it sounded terrible .. Whem I unhooked it yesterday , he just used Two Post for all speakers (4) - waddeed all the speaker wire together , then about a 3inch jumper from there , That can't be right , unless you want to run one channel onlt , right? Running one chanel focuses the power soul;y in one area.. That 's the only reason I can think of - It was know good ..

OhhMannn , Yea, I'll try to find a suround tonight , Holy crap!! - That would reall make my day.. The tweeders in the Advent are liquid cooled as well , You sure about not using them? I tell yuh , when I would crank the tunes up w/those speakers you had bad a$$ sounding bass and all the tings from the tweeders blending well - Freakin loud and clear - Solid Oak Boxes , sealed ...

They ruined my wide screen TV though - I didn't know you couldn't have them to close (within 5 feet of the TV) They turned it green and it was never right after that ...

I would like to use ALL 8 , 8" Advents In the back under the seats , I have a 5 1/2 Inches in depth in the back - Max , But can raise the seat as needed - I don't care about seat in the back aa that much..

I don't think the Technics have enough *** - The amp says 400 watt max in a certain channel mode - Ian't recall , but I read again later - Found more F'ed up coroded wires to fix - This should be it though..


You think the Pioneers are good for the front doors ?
