Some people put polyfill in their boxes. It pretty much like pillow stuffing. It supposedly makes the sub seem like its in a bigger box, but Ive never really been able to tell a difference whether its in or not.
Its more important to have the sub the the proper sized enclosure, and that the box is sturdy and sealed up airtight.
Do you know what impedance those subs are, and how much power they can take?

The ADVENTS about 600 watts - I said they were liquid cooled but there not , they call it Ferra Cooled - whatever that means

2 6X9's are @ 220 watts a piece and the other 2 are @ 180 watts a piece..

Sounds like your giving my peak wattage ratings. They mean nothing.
RMS is what you want to look at. Somtimes reffered to as continuos.

 

Okay , yeah I seen that listed in the amp manual if I recall .. I have the advent manual as well - it's in the shop . I 'll be out in the shop all week starting tomorrow - hooking up a comp system out there again seeing how I finally run a gas line out there and can keep it at 50 degree's . I'll be able to post pics as I do things..Specially in the audio department where I seem to be lacking lol..

Not really a garage , I have one of those attacthed to the house. It's a 2 story pull barn that I was going to put an apartment in the second story and rent it out. BUT , I use it to much and I'm trying to find a old gas station that's going under so I can ****** the lifts from it lol. I would rather lift my truck way up in the air than make money on an apartment (is that F'ed up or what?)

Yeah it was 28 here too- snowed last night and then freezin rain . I did a loopdeloop out in road leavin the driveway and the damn thing went into the ditch - roads where iced . Locked it in and had to wait for my rears to burn a hole in the ice before it jumped out of there lol . It did jump out of there pretty quick - wrenched my freakin neck when it did

Guess that'll teach me lol - NOT!!

Lol, I think I would rather get a lift than try to rent something out...to much of a PITA lol. Lift would be sweet though.
Got a little icy here too. It was in the upper 30s-lower 40s, but on Sat. it started snowing and what not...
I was passing a tractor today (I live in the sticks) and my back end started sliding towards him. Just about shat myself, he woulda ran clean over my bed

Thats just the amp specs. I have to find the advent manual.. My sister told me if I hook my home stereo speakers up in my truck it will ruin them - I may have her figure me system out lol ..

Running your home speakers off a car amp will not damage them. You just have to watch the impedance, because home audio is usually much differrent than in car audio. Its usually higher though.

I haven't made it out to the shop yet to work on it again . I planed on pulling the heads this weekend but behind schedule , some PITA ordeal came up so I'll be busy until Friday - Besides my brothers been out there working on his Explorer and all he does is B^tch about wrenching if I go out there he'll be trying to get me to do his sh^t ...Family sometimes

When I get out there I'll post some pics if I have probs - it's easier to cipher what the he^^ I'm talking about lol..

Your using the Advent speakers with a car amp, right?

 

That was a thought - building a box to fit under the rear seat - or eliminate the seat all together - Pulling The Advent speakers from there existing inclosures and installing them into the new inclosure I'm building. I'm also going to install a new supertuner.

The advents were previously hooked up to a sony 220watt receiver in the house and they really sounded good - blew the receiver in the house , so I want to put them in the truck..there rated 600watts - they cost 600 bucks about 5 years ago as well lol - so I want to get some use out of them , gota a good bose system for the house so I can't use them for anything else..

Tryin to make them work in the truck . two 8" woofers and one midrange per speaker , but the magnets freakin huge lol..

Hey you think I should put my 200 amp alternator in to help the power distribution? I found a new one on eBay awhile ago, have that on standby as well..

I also have 4 6x9's Pioneers 2 @220 watts and 2 @180 watts - not sure what to do w/those..

You would only want to use the subs. Dont put mids or any of that stuff in a box under the seat.

You need to use just the subs, find out what impedance just those are (because if the back of the speaker box says 10 ohm, then thats with all the drivers connected, who knows what just the sub is), find some specs or something so you can get a decent box.

Like I said before, I think I am on a different page than you are. Do you have any pics of what your trying to put in?

 

Same page ? Hell Idunno - Might not even be in the book - prolly get it figured out when I plaster a page full of pics ehh? Who knows, we both might be scratchin are heads . May be I would be safer making the same size Inside diameter in the box I make as the box there coming out of(that make sense?) - like throw a divider in the big box Im building for under the seat.. Trucks already inside the shop - it's not coming out until its done - I just fixed an 01 for a guy and he's not picken it up till wednesday , said I could use it if I want , so yeah , still wanna pull the heads by the end of next week and polish the manifold inside and give the TB a once over (already polished) - I have to go back to work and the end of the month , so I gotta get this crap done.. Starting right off w 80 hr workweeks in April - Sucks until payday

I'll get the woofer specs and shoot em to yuh..
