I don't quite follow you here. The 3.5L is underpowered so its boosted? What exactly does that mean? The whole point of the Ecoboost is to replace a higher displacement naturally aspirated engine.

And you also say it as though Diesels don't come with turbochargers. Now there are engines that are GROSSLY under-powered in their N/A state.

They didn't just slap turbos on a V6 to give it power, it was designed to be FI.

Take a regular V6, slap 12PSI on it....watch it go BOOM.

Obviously that's true but my point is the boost is compensating for the smaller displacement thus sucks fuel when towing. Same with diesels but depending on size it's not as severe. The TT we have my dad got 12-13 towing with his Cummins. An eco boost would be near single digits with it. Its old and heavy.

I hope Ford makes it as big of an event as when they unveiled the new Fusion. Probably won't though since it's a concept and not an official release.
Press conference is tomorrow (Tuesday) at 8:50 AM EST.

Looks cool but it's just a concept truck so that doesn't really tell us much. I've been looking at these "futuristic" trucks for about 20 years now.

That's true, but the new truck is only about a year and a half from production. Probably a pretty good indicator of the future.

Yeah I don't agree but I'm not discussing it further since the eco boost is gods gift to man. People keep making the eco boost out to be like a diesel. Sure its impressive for what it is. Boost sucks mpg. Idk how that can be argued.

Anyways Idk how I feel about it. The head lights look awkward to me I hope they become one piece and not split like they are. IMO the current version looks better

Look at many of the concept vehicles Ford, Lincoln, and Land Rover have created over the last 5 years. Many of their current models are very very similar to their concept vehicle from years ago, while many others implement cues from them. I think this is a very good indicator of the next F-150. If not then it will at least features from it.

I'm pretty sure that with the name Atlas, this is way more concept than reality--especially remembering that the cosmetics of the heavily-hyped Super Chief concept never saw regular production. Looks to me like the grille and tailgate treatments are "red herrings." I do like the LED head and tail lights, the turn signals in the fronts of the side mirrors, the big flares over the wheel openings, the cargo step/ladder support, and what I could see of the interior. And what's with that roof line? Hopefully they will tone it down and make it less "showy."
