I stopped by my dealer yesterday to ask. He said they show up in the system, but there are no prices attached to the listings, and they aren't available to order yet. He said if they hold steady with previous years, they should be available for order within a couple weeks, as parts show up shortly after new models hit the lots.

On the way out I talked to the sales manager, and he said they have 20 on order, mostly FX4's and Lariats, and he would give me a call when they show up so I can take a look at the new instrument clusters and HID's.

Hmm... these photos here look like the area surrounding the projector is black, but the rest of the housing's interior is silver, whereas on the FX trims it's all black. I'll still have to see it in person, but I think I really like the look of that.

They will be way overpriced, probably around $1500 for both sides just for the housings. Considering they use generic Valeo projectors and fluted lens, they are pretty "dumbed down" from a performance standpoint. Much cheaper just to retrofit your halogen lenses with better equipment.

hopefully the HIDs have auto-leveling built in. Otherwise its gonna be annoying when guys lift their 2013 and have HID projectors aiming to the moon.

The interior of the HID housings is a matte gray color similar to the 11-12 FX grille. I noticed this earlier... I'll probably just go with a high quality retrofit so I can paint them black since there is no gray anywhere on my truck...

iPhone 4 camera, sorry some shots are not too visible guys. I'll get some shots of the projectors in action on my brother's Kodak when I can and upload them.

More truck for the same buck. Its all about needs, but the line has to be drawn somewhere, I agree with Iron's POV

Also I like the projectors on the new f150's but I'm having a hard time understanding why it has the "f-150" in the housing. Reminds me of the motor trend review of the 03 HD models, how they sported like 10 emblems total in and out. C clamp grille looks good, love/hate combo but it'll get unclipped or dremeled out for a nice billet grille

Anyone know if the HIDs on the 2013s are standard for certain trim levels, such as the 2013 Lariat, there is no option to select them on ford's site.

Think they are optional on XLT, standard on FX2/4, optional on Lariat, standard on Plat and Limited. I'll double check when I get to work tomorrow.

Yea I recently built mine online via ford's website, still not seeing an option to add the HIDs on the Lariat.

To be specific I ordered a 2013 Lariat supercrew ecoboost, 6.5 bed, hd payload package.

For some reason Ford is removing options that we want, need and desire if the H.D. Payload Package is purchased.

HID Headlights are deleted from Lariats if you select H.D. Payload...

https://www.f150online.com/forums/20...-ford-com.html

On XLT, they removed the rear camera, and the reverse sensors if you select H.D. Payload. Last year both were available with H.D. Payload.

We deserve to be treated better than this. Every option that doesn't conflict with the payload package that is available to buyers on a certain trim level should be available to buyers that slect the payload package.

XLT buyers who haul and tow will opt for the Payload Package and want the rear camera to hook up trailers. The Payload Package is on the longest F-150's. Long trucks need reverse sensors the most. Luxury Lariat buyers with H.D. Payload want the nice HID headlights, too.

Ford, please rethink this.

That seems a little short-sighted by Ford. It's quite possible that there may be bugs in the online build process. That is quite common early on. Have you checked the order guide? That is more believable than the online ordering tool.

Has anyone seen the new 20'' Lariat wheels with the black inserts? I've seen a few lariats with the regular 20's but none of the new ones. Mine better come with the new ones.

I spent an hour on the phone with Ford marketing and he did say that the 501a package includes the HIDs with the HD payload package selected. However on my vehicle order confirmation I see no mention of HID lights.
