The order guide states 301A for XLT does not include the rear camera or reverse sensors. The rear cam and reverse sensors are tied in with the XLT Luxury Package, 302A, which includes the chrome package that is not available with XLT HD. It doesn't show the rear cam and reverse sensors available as free-standing options for HD Payload buyers.

On Lariat, the order guide states 501A does not include HID and the moonroof. The moonroof and HID are tied in with the 502A Luxury Package, which includes the chrome package that is not available with Lariat HD. On the build and price, you can buy the moonroof as a free-standing option, but not the HID headlights.

I hope it just a build and price error. That would be a relief. But there is nothing in writing showing that these options are available to HD Payload customers.

This doesn't effect me now, but if they take away options little by little that will mess up my plans of buying the all new and improved model in 2015.

Basically what's holding this up is the Chrome Package. Chrome Package is not available on HD Payload. Now they have a new Luxury Package with the Chrome Package built in (not available separately like it used to be) and HD Payload customers are left out on options. I understand not including the Chrome Package on HD Payload because the wheels are not chrome, but what does that have to do with the rear camera and reverse sensing system? And HID for Lariat? I hope that phone call from Ford Marketing is correct, but I would like to hear more.

I feel like the chrome package is forced upon you. I want nothing to do with the running boards, but want items that you can only get in the luxury package in the XLT. I guess I'll just be pulling them off and selling them on the ebay or something.

Also, I'd rather have the solid rear window, but seems like if I were to go sans power slide window on an XLT Screw then I would have to forgo most packages as well. What is so good about the sliding rear window and why the push on it to the customer. I'll never use it.

Use it, then you will know what is so good about it.

Seriously, though, I use mine quite a bit in the fall and spring. Crack the windows a bit, open the slider, and you have a nice flow of air without the loud noise you get rolling the windows down all the way.

But, then again, I like fresh air, and live in the country where we have lots of it!

Somebody is wrong. And I hope it is my dealer and the Build a Ford website. I have been told you can't get HID's with the 501a package, you must step up and get the 502a with moon roof and Nav. It also adds about 2K to your purchase. I don't want to see the moon and I know where I'm going.

Having said that I hope mine shows up with HID's and my dealer was wrong.

I'm not crossing my fingers for HIDs, I just don't see why the HIDs wouldn't be an option for the hd payload package. Hopefully it's a screw up on the build site, and we'll see if my truck shows up with the HIDs. I added nav to mine but not the moonroof.

Im glad they dont. I live in an area where gravel is used during the winter, and i prefer to have less painted area to be chipped.

The black textured flares fit the off road theme of the truck well. In the 12-13's get the app package and you can have the painted flares on the FX4.. Or you can take yours and most shops will charge less than $100/per flare to smooth, prep, and paint your existing flares.
