Totally agree with wookie!! I literally run the snot out of every vehicle and motorcycle I've ever owned from day one. I'm not talking varying rpm's and what-not either...I'm talking dog snot!

Enjoy your new EB and post some pics when you get it..

Good luck.

Thanks guys! I am really excited about it as I know it's going to be a lot more fun to drive than my lifted '09 FX4 with the 5.4L. Anyway, having fun searching for my mods again!!!

I'm really afraid to test drive an EcoBoost. I'll dread the walk back to my 160 rwhp 4.2L

Well, based on all the work that you have done that's listed in your sig, it looks like you'll forget all about the Eco once you're back in your truck!

If I was closer to SoCal I might slap you for that. Don't make us look bad. Chevy's are the most fun to whip up on. Their egos are big and their dipsticks are small... Getting stomped by a V6 Ford will just about make them suicidal. Make sure you emphasize the V6 part, nothing like salt in a wound. I had some moron in a loud mid 90s chevy try to beat me from a roll into the merge point. I was doing about 15 at the time and punched it, one downshift later the back tires were spinning and that piece of gm junk was just a bad memory in my rear view.

If by varying the pedal you mean planting that SOB as far into the carpet as it will go from time to time you are on the right path. The rest of the time just drive like you have Miss Daisy in the truck and you hate the old bag.

Well, I changed my mind again. Now it's going to be a loaded up FX4 (Sterling Grey) with the EcoBoost, sunrooof, navigation with Sony, luxury package, 20-inch wheels, etc.

Driving my salesman nuts as I originally went in for a new F250, then a Raptor, then the XLT Eco, (thought about the Plat and Lariat too) and finally settled back on the FX4 as it really is the best looking package in my mind and has just enough luxo and offroad features I wanted. Too bad I reset the order clock. :o

Everyone has their priorities, but I think the locker rules out the FX4 for me. Wish that was an option cause I like the FX but my driving would greatly benefit for a LS over the locker.

Nice Choice! I test drove an ingot silver EB yesterday that has been a dealer demo for a while so it had about 2k miles on it, and it was phenomenal to be honest it felt better than a brand spanking new one that had less than 15 miles on it.

Glad you changed your mind. Even though it would have been a nice truck I don't think you would have been happy with just an XLT. Don't worry about the salesman, you made the right choice and he still gets a commission, only you made him earn it.

Yeah, understand that but the e-locker works for me.

I don't know, maybe about 20-24 different Fords out of the +60 vehicles I have owned. So about one third were Fords with 12-15 of them being Ford trucks. But for sure, this new one will be my 5th Ford truck during the past 4 years.

Thanks FX4life; I actually decided upon a Race Red as the dealer had one with an EcoBoost on the lot so we took another drive. But when I showed it to my wife, she wasn't as thrilled with the bright "arrest me" red as I was so decided to stay with the Sterling Grey. But the test drive got me stoked all over again and can't wait.

Thanks tg....yeah, I am happier I went with the FX4 although I was disappointed to learn that the dealer could not get the Navigation in the remaining 2011 allotments unless I wanted to order the 2012 (which I did not as I want the better rebates on the 2011s). So it was a compromise but I couldn't get Nav on the XLT either, but at least I am getting the leather, Sony sound, sunroof, and so on.

sooo.. what mods are you planning? If your vehicle history is any indicator it won't stay stock for too long
