Well, the day will probably be coming when Ford puts a performance version of the EB into the Raptor. So until then (if ever), I am going to be enjoying the current EB with the FX4.

Definitely counting down the weeks!

Did they tell you 6-8 weeks for delivery? That's what they told me and I had it in 34 days. It was built 2 weeks before they got the bad batch of leaky transmission pumps.

Don't even bother looking at the MPG's before 6-8000 miles and city driving isn't the best for getting good mpg!

Yeah, they pulled a build that the dealer already had in the system. Because I was changing an existing order sheet, I was limited to the amount of changes I could do (color, wheel upgrade, sunroof, etc.). But they did say about 5-6 weeks so that would great if less!

Glad you escaped that bad run!

The second I lean into the throttle to merge on the freeway it drops to 14's... we'll see what happens when there is a few thousand miles on the clock.
The stop and go for the 3 miles is what's killing the mileage.I don't think any full size truck in that situation is going to get very good mileage IMO.I had a 2010 F-150 Supercab 4X4 with the 4.6 3V,6 speed auto and 3.73 gears. The 2011 i have now is identical except for the EcoBoost engine and 3.55 gears. The EcoBoost has been about 2 mpg better then the 4.6 3V in the same driving conditions.

Later Mark.

I wander what a F-150 with a 5.4,Dodge with a 5.7 Hemi,Chevy with a 5.3 and Toyota with the 5.7 would get in the same city driving as you.IMO,i bet if they got 12-13 mpg they would be lucky.

Later Mark.

I really like leather seating and sunroof which are only offered in the upper trim levels over the XLT (and didn't want to go aftermarket as I had done that in the past). You also get additional niceties (with the right package) such as power fold mirrors, drivers and passengers side power memory seats, remote start, flow-through floor console with rear vents and console shifter, etc. Not that I absolutely needed all that but nice to have none the less. Also, I wanted the upgraded Sony audio system that you can't get with the XLT.

And as far as picking the FX4 over the Lariat, I like the carbon-fiber like interior treatment far more than the Lariat's blond wood treatment. Finally, I really like the monochromatic look over the chrome bumpers and wheels so my options were the FX4, two-tone Lariat, Platinum, or Raptor. Out of all of those, I really prefer the "sport" look of the FX4 and Raptor, so that is why I changed from the XLT after deciding the EcoBoost would be better for me over the 6.2L.

Not meaning to thread jack you Dawg ...

Yeah Mark, when I hit those stop lights and get going it robs any previous gains from the highway. On a good side note, I put a SOLID 60 FREEWAY MILES AND THE AVG HAS CLIMBED TO 15.5MPG (sorry about cap lock, I'm a keyboard plucker and didn't notice). She's getting better, but I'm practically hypermiling this tank. In reality 15.5 combined I'll take. the 13.7 had me a little concerned.......

I have NO idea how people are getting 17+. I treat it like a hyper-miler and stilll can't bust 15.5 mpg's. I don't know, all I know is it's awesome when somebody tries to test the EB power.... see yaaaaa!!!!!
WOW, Mine is a 2WD SCREW and 3.15 rear diff.. I get 17.5 around town if I drive with normal traffic.. on a run from Fort Worth the Wichita Falls on the highway doing 70 hauling a 5X8 trailer loaded with kids college dorm furnature and the bed full of the rest and a dresser in the back floor I got 20mpg going out and 19mpg coming back...that was with less than 2K on the odo. I have just under 5K miles on it now! I'm pretty happy since my last truck could do no better than 14 on the highway with a tailwind!
