2012 F150's
CC,
Is the front camera available only on the Raptor? Or can you get the front camera on other models as well?
Green is back.
Not sure what 2 Speed Automatic 4x4 will mean.
Lariat uses the new 7 lug aluminum wheels from 2011. Those are my favorite wheels.
Thanks for posting.
PS Pickuptrucks.com has answered my question on Auto 4x4. Yes, you can turn 4wd on yourself...
"You have a selector **** just like other 4 wheel drive fords. The only difference is that opposed to 2 hi, 4 hi, and 4 lo settings you have 2 hi, 4 hi, and AWD. The all wheel drive functions like the auto feature in gm trucks that have the auto trac transfer case. This allows you to let the truck kick in 4 hi when traction is limited. I hope that is as clear as mud and helps some."

As for the auto trac like AWD feature, that was a feature on the HD, and LTDs in 2011. NOTE: on the LTD, I am not seeing the LTD listed for 2012.
Note: 7 lug wheels are heavy payload pkg only.
If I am following the Camera data correctly then it should be available on all Nav optioned trucks.
Edit: I went though the 27 page document again and you may be correct on that Raptor only for the front camera. I thought I read it on other models. But apparently not, only see it in the Raptor section. and on the overview of changes where there is a foot note regarding the Raptor and NAV.

Am I seeing this correctly?? They added Race Red to the Lariat? Please say it's true! I was really hoping for a maroon color again but I'll definitely take Race Red. They got rid of regular red on the Lariat since the 09 model year and I've been regretting not getting one then. Hope this is true!
Also did you say there is a long-box SuperCab Lariat this year? That would be awesome as well.

I maybe should back off that Firm yes I gave you last night in regards to the 163 wb lariat. Since I too am very interested in that configuration, I was trying to figure out all the little can and can't get items on the 163s. I discovered a discrepancy or 2 in the guide regarding the 163s and the Lariat pkg. Chart on page 4 says yes but later on around page 11 or 12 there is another chart indicating no, and cuts the 163 off again at an XLT just like 2011 and every year prior. Page 2 mentions Lariat and Heavy payload pkg, but I think it may be limiting that comment to the Crew cab trucks. Since the 163s are extended cabs I am not sure which part of the guide is correct.

The guide is dated august 15th, I suspect that is when it was set to be released since the order bank opens the 15th for 2012 F150s. I am sure Monday it will be available to some more tech savvy fokes that will have it posted up for every one to see.
And now hopefully you can get a long-box Lariat for work. I come from a Ford family but I really liked the last generation GM pickups especially 2003-06. I think they were just awesome, and I have had 4 of them, but I'm happy to get a F150 now. The new GM Full-Sizers are good but not really great like the F150s. The pre 2007 GMs were much better than the new ones.
Sorry for getting off-topic. I might have to consider getting a Lariat long-box too. I know the crew-cab is the practical way to go, but I've always thought long-box extended-cabs are cool and don't like that features on the XLT are so limited. If only they would offer a black interior on the XLT, I would at least consider it because I don't mind cloth, but they also got rid of the sunroof on the XLT. I don't know why they have discontented them so much. I remember when my uncle switched from Silverados to F150s in 2002 his (I think it was a 2003) F150 XLT FX4 had heated cloth seats, factory woodgrain and a sunroof, I thought that was quite cool.

Funny you mention the old body chevy and gmc trucks I thought the exact same thing.
My old work truck was an 06 chevy silverado long bed ext cab. Leather nav ect. Prety much the same as my 10 gmc, but I always liked that truck better then my current gmc. I like the backup cam and some the features now. But the 06 was more comforatable to drive in all day. It was also better to work out of with the lower bed sides. Ford is a little week on the bed side department being to tall. But at least ford put in built in stair case to get up in and out of the bed.

The 03-06 Silverados were extremely comfortable. I had a fully-loaded 04 Silverado, that I thought was just amazing when I bought it. Power-folding mirrors were awesome in 2004! Now they're pretty common place, but boy, did I think those were cool. Plus it was fully-loaded with everything but leather, because you used to be able to do that, and the cloth was actually nice, unlike today's cloth interiors. That's why I've held onto my 05 Silverado for so long, because it really is a great truck, but it's time for a new one and I can get regular red on the Lariat, so I'm happy!
Thanks for all the info. Hopefully we'll get to see an actual order guide soon. I'm really curious to see if they have changed the wheels or anything like that. I noticed on the 2012 Super Duty's that the FX4 decal is different -- more similar to how they looked pre-2009. And they changed the wheels on the chrome package so I'm hoping that they'll change them on the F150 too. I think you posted that on the chrome package the chrome door handle straps are now optional? I hope this is true because I like the chrome package because of the grille, wheels and mirror caps, but the door handles are just too much for me. I really have a dislike for chrome door handles on pickups. I feel like ever since GM put them on the Escalade and people figured out they could put them on their Silverado and Sierras, chrome door handles have blown up and you can buy them for just about any vehicle and people slap them on and it looks tacky. They're fine if they're supposed to be there like on the Platinum, but I just don't like 'em otherwise.

I hope you are kidding with that as a 2-speed transfer case. I didn't buy the Limited in 2008 simply because it only had a "high" range case. I am needing to upgrade my Lariat, but I can't do without a "Low" range in the center box.
We should have specifics today... Hopefully, the order guide or something official. After CC's posts I'd like to get started already
Anyone know when build and price usually goes up for the new model year?

When I placed my order this month my dealer thought the cut off for 2011 MY was 8/19, should be soon then.
Build and Price is up for almost all the other 2012 Fords. Last year it took a long time before Ford put up the F150 though. I think it was a month or two after the order guide came out. So, I wouldn't hold your breath. But you never know maybe they'll do it right away this time!
