You guys gotta post pics of heads and tails on a black or grey truck. I bet those would look awesome on my sterling grey. Gotta get a raise/new job first, HA.

Could someone that has the HD/raptor tails answer a question for me?

Could the backside of the "white lip" be painted black to get rid of the white ring around the lights. It looks like it is just layers of clear plastic that give the illusion of the white ring.

they must have increased the price. I paid the 174. Maybe they reduced the shipping charges?

Anyway, mine shipped yesterday...tails too.

I put the tails on this afternoon. They look great on a black truck that's for sure. I tried to take some pics but it has been raining all day so I can't get any outside and I can't get very good pics in the garage.

My reverse bulbs were a pain in the *** to get out. I broke the one on the passenger side so I will have to replace that tomorrow.

No, not really. The white lip (good name for a wise-*** I know at work) as you call it, is about 5/8" wide (not 5/8" thick). When looking at the white lip from outside of lens (the part we see on street), about half the width is white/gray because the inside assy itself is gray plastic. The other half of the width is somewhat translucent. If you did spray black behind that, the black would show thru a little, but still with a dull plastic covering over that color. All this would actually make them look worse than when you began in my opinion, as you would now have the 5/8" white lip now be a slimmer white lip feathering to a somewhat black lip which would make the whole thing look zebra-ish.

In fact the HD ones look ok in this regard because all they did was replace the gray plastic with black (in addition to getting rid of the bad bad chrome film strip), so now we have a nice black feathering out to the still whitish outer half of the 5/8" lip but now the whitish is not so noticeable or objectionable.

>>> Actually, post #1 of this thread shows exactly what I am talking about. <<<

You could give it a shot though, but it is not the quick fix you/I/we would desire. If you can take off your lens (two minutes) and look you will see exactly what I mean. Good luck.
