What is the "white stripe"? Is that some sort of sealing foam, tape, etc? Could it be removed and swapped out for something that produces the same qualities but is black?

Is there any reason if you were painting the “trim” on the lights to get rid of the white line you couldn’t remove the lenses from the stock lights and just paint everything so they look like the Raptor/Harley lights?

Will the lenses come off?

I figure if you are going to take the time to prep, tape and paint the covers why not save the money and just paint the stock ones.

Anyone?

this is true, but i figure to break the seal of the light and risk getting crap inside the light and not having it properly sealed again from factory was a bit of a deterrent but your right, if u r capable of prepping and painting the trim you can take the extra steps to do the inside, for me i like the look of the harly just wanted to clean it up.

I like the look a lot, I would just rather spend the money on headlights and tailights on something else. Combine the two and there is almost enough money there for some realy nice shocks for the rear and coilovers for the front. For me it bolis down to a $/gain sort of thing. In addition to that I am painting all my badges, handles, etc anyway. May as well make a paint party out of it.

Do the tailights have "vents" in them to help with fogging? If so I wouldn't get worried about taking the covers off. And you could always add a vent and Rain-X the inside of the lenses.

Just a thought
