Cool Truck 'GHOSTING' my garage door?

I think my new 2011 Platinum is inadvertently closing my garage door. The other day my wife opened the driver's side rear door on my truck and the overhead door began going down. The next day I opened the overhead door and before it was open I hit the remote start and the door reversed and began going down. Then later that day I opened the driver's door and the overhead door began going down. I have had my truck several weeks and normally this does not happen. I set the sun visor button to operate my garage door the first day I brought it home. Has anyone else experienced this 'ghost' activation?

Never heard of it happening for real, but I do know my next door neighbor did this manually with his garage control key fob to his wife for a month or so before she caught on to him. She was complaining to me, picking my brain every few days. It was hard to help her with a straight face.

You should be easily able to change the channel your garage door operates on. SHould be dip switches that match on both remote and opener. I assume that is much easier than messing with the remote starter.

Perhaps try to release all the codes from your opener, and program all the remotes again. Will only take 5 minutes, and would be a good place to start. Instructions should be on a sticker on the side of the opener on the ceiling.

I had the same issue last month. I replaced the wall switch and the remote. I picked up both for less than $40.00 american at the local Home Depot. I believe some garage door makers refer to it as having a Phantom Operater.

I've had issues where light reflection off the truck hits the sensors of the garage door and it kicks mine back open.
