Dealer Just confirmed that mine is on its way here as we speak.... Latest update is that it was on a rail car headed here last Thursday..... Expects that we should see it sometime next week, but isn't making any promises.

So it looks like the hang ups are finally over... Will post picture when it arrives.

Bluescrew thats good to hear. Mine was ment to be here monday but at last check they still hadnt left the factory but i guess i will find out monday if the date they gave me still stands. Also ask you dealer about the del charge as i was told that its not included in the price because of the way fuel prices change and at the time of order fuel was very high. Now that fuel is lower you should be entitled to a discount on the delivery charge as the fuel has dropped. Worth a try. I have contacted ford about it so will see what there answer is now.

Well it looks like I have been misslead by the assistant sales manager that my truck was on a rail car.... Turns out the the XLT SCREW under it was on a rail car and is at the dealer. My Platinum is still at the factory in a produced state...

Anyone seen a Platinum at any dealer for sale.... Just trying to detiremine if it's simply a matter of the shipping getting scheduled or if there is still some type of hold on the Platinum trucks.... Will post a update if I hear anything verifiable.

Well i have been called by a helpful guy at ford after sending a letter to the CEO's he has told me that not one platinum has been sent out on retail orders yet. There dont seem to be any problems with them and they are just waiting to be shipped. Mine was ment to be here today but the truck was full of 09 f150's but mine wernt on it!! he has told me that the system is updated every thursday to show current status and if checked any other day it is not realiable. He told me that it now has a date of 1st december but he is going to do his best to get it to me this week. I aint holding my breath. I will let you guys know when i hear something as he is pretty high up in ford.

Well the timeframe you are describing seams to be inline with what I had figured out with my dealer. They had a XLT that was built on November 3 that arrived last thursday 11/20. Using that as a base and a build date of 11/13 for mine, would indicate a 11/30 delivery but there is the holiday in there so it's probably sometime during the week of December 1st for my truck as well. Once they give me a rail car number it's only a couple of days for the truck to get to the dealer.

Thursday is there primary scheduling day normally, but with Thursday and Friday off I am not sure when they will do this weeks schedule. There are some updates throughout the week and there is the online system but most of the major changes occur on Thursday.

Good Luck

There's no flaws but the lots are full. The problem seems to be with getting them here. they need to fill a trailer truck full of them to make it worth shiping them. They aint sold any 09 f150's in this area so the chances of getting a truck come from Dearboun for me are pretty slim. Just got to wait until they sell enough to get them here.

All of the truck sitting on the lot are sold from Ford's perspective... They have been ordered and sold to the dealers, The plant doesn not build trucks that have not been ordered.

If the dealer has the truck sold or not is a different story, but the truck would not have been built if a dealer had not ordered it either for stock or a end user. Lots of the trucks with leave Dearborn via rail car for a "regional" hub and then be trucked from the "regional" hubs to the dealers.... A typically auto hauler will carry 8-9 vehicals from the regional hubs but there may only be a few F150's on the load.

Or the auto hauler may make multiple stops to drop off a load, I know of auto hauler that have had to make 3 stops (dealers) for a single load. Within the last week I have seen about 20 F150's at the 3 dealers near me and they seam to be selling. My dealer is waiting for 10 sold trucks at this time and has additional orders for their floorplan that they are also waiting for.

OK, here is what I am hearing. All 09's from KCAP have been good to go and overtime starts next Monday and continue through April. DTP is still having many problems and are stuck at around 45 jobs per hour. KCAP is at 59-60. Also I heard there are many many trucks sitting, awaiting repairs at DTP. I won't give a number but it was a lot. KCAP had a similar problem but not near as many as I have heard from DTP.

Visited dealer today about my Platinum order. Got a new date of 12/8. He says he was told the unit was on line, what ever that means. I think Screwbuilder has given the answer. Ford is evidently having a problem getting the kinks out at the Dearborn plant.

Screwbuilder, can you check the status of a unit with the serial number? (1FTPW14V59FA30999)

Go to blueovalnews.com and read in the employees forum, especially the KC plant has even slowed down the line speed to try and get them right, they have 09's sitting waiting for repair before they can ship, personally I would not touch an 09 much before this summer, I already did it once in 04 on an early build, pillar covers fell off SC doors the metal was all wavy lookis like a piece of time foil and I can go on once bitten twice wary
