Grill differences between lariat/xl/xlt?

Looking to replace the grill and surround on my 2005 Lariat model truck I bought from Copart. I found a replacement I like, but it says it fits XL models, but is not compatible with Lariat. Is the mounting different or headlights different or what makes it not compatible between the different trim models?

It's this grill fwiw, and the price is right.

2004 thru 2008 should all be the same. I replaced the chrome/gold honeycomb grill of my 05 Lariat with a painted one from an XL Sport.

Did you end up getting the grill you were looking for? I'm looking to replace mine too since part of the honeycomb design got damaged.

I did mine curbside. Took about 30 minutes with hand tools.

amazon.com
ebay.com

Those are just as few of the products. There is a lot of stuff out there for a 10 year old truck.

Manufacturer Part Number 009906011

I don't think Hella produces it anymore.

My truck has the plain mesh grill.

From what I can recall, they were really expensive. $500 - $600 range. My plain grille was about $60.
