Picture of the flex plate

Transmission on jack ready to be mounted (the black connector on the side is what has been replaced)

Transmission installed and now ready to install the transfer case that I purchased.

Took this at 4:30am. Watched the sunset and sunrise while installing the transmission.

This whole process took longer than expected. Started at 3:00pm in the afternoon and finally completed the following day at 6:30am (worked throughout the night).

The original transfer case I had on the truck was good. However, I thought I would replace it with the used one I purchased as it looked like it was in a much better condition. Turns out I was wrong. Reverse is hard (have to rev it a little higher) and I lost 4WD Low. Will be replacing the transfer case back to the original I had (4WD High and Low worked fine)

Quite disappointed that the headlights I purchased arrived damaged. I have already filed an insurance claim. Will be replacing the headlight lenses in the near future.

There are cracks on both lights. Same location on both lights. Not noticeable in pictures or with distance. Does not affect light output.

Installed on driver's side

Completed

New issue: Reverse bulbs do not work. Swapped fuse #14 as well as bulbs. Will check digital transmission range sensor on pin #11 to see if I get any voltage out of it.

This weekend, I'll be popping out the transfer case and putting in my original one. This used one has issues and I can't engage 4WD Low.

Interior bulb was dead so I swapped it out for GE Nighthawks. They are as advertised (20% brighter than oem).

Lastly, grille swapped out today.

New grille looks good. That truck is really coming around. The rust hole would drive me nuts since the rest of it is looking so nice these days.

By the way, as far as the GE bulb being 20% brighter, just a marketing gimmick a lot of companies use. They compare their new bulb to an old used warm out bulb. They all dim overtime.

I would prefer if they dimmed as they are extremely bright compared to the original bulbs inside.

Installed switchback front turn signal bulbs today.

Transfer case swap on Saturday. Hopefully spark plugs with boots as well if there's enough time.

Sunday = DRL swap from low beams to turn signals.

Wheel alignment completed. Steering wheel is straight now. Used to be at an angle.

PO installed an aftermarket alarm system. The alarm had wires cut out so it was removed.

Originally purchased Denso 5326 spark plugs. These are the short design and they are not compatible with this motor. The threads do not fit.

Ended up purchasing Motorcraft SP-515's from the local dealership.

Took off intake

All spark plugs removed

All in all, spark plugs took an additional 5 hours to install due to the fact that all 8 spark plugs broke. Removal procedure as outlined in TSB 06-15-2 (http://www.rockauto.com/info/54PlugRemovaltsb208.pdf)

The truck now misfires and dies during idle. Will check it out tomorrow.

I did a plug change on mine about 6 months ago, all 8 plugs broke, and they looked EXACTLY like yours. Your sparkplug tips had the same issues as mine(electrodes burnt off/bent) and porcelain cracked off. I also was MISSING an electrode on one plug, I think it fell into the cylinder head. You look like your missing one as well.

I did my best to blow out the cylinders with compressed air, but I was really worried about debris in the cylinder heads/chamber. I played it REALLY safe and had the truck towed to the dealer where I had them bore scope every cylinder. They found large/small chunks of debris in the cylinders and were able to clean them out with compressed air and verified it was clean with a bore scope. They then oiled the engine from the top to coat the cylinders and slowly cranked the engine by hand to check for binding. $600 later I got the truck back, and runs like a beast....

I hope you didn't get debris in there and damage the cylinders.............

Nice job so far. I haven't seen a fuel filter that looked that bad before.
