I see Rock Auto sells an aftermarket version of the FX2 grille. Does anyone have one that could comment on the fit/appearance/etc? is it junk? thanks.

 

Here is a pic of mine before I put an HD Grille in..not a great picture. The grille isn't to bad in quality, it will have to be painted to match if you want, or leave it black. For the money I was pleased with it.

Yep, same grille..it comes as a flat paintable finish from RockAuto. It does not include the emblem though, you will have to get one of those separate.

hmmm, it's probably just the pic, but yours looks a little tighter between the bars.

 

Hard to tell, could just be the picture. Hard to see with these old eyes, but I believe there are the same # of bars. Also it may be the red surround may be playing tricks on the eyes.

 

I don't know why either but it does. In every photo I have it looks tighter. But idk his pic made me really dislike the fx2 grille for the gaps but then i looked at mine and it seems perfectly normal. Maybe its the way he took the pic? No offense to your rig man it looks good! I changed my truck a lot since these photos.

Stock FX2 with custom made lower from a stock FX2 grille.

 

i went with the FX2 grill from RockAuto also. I'm pleased with mine. Got a 7" emblem off ebay that fit perfect. Just have to be careful with all your tabs when replacing it.
I'd say go for it, can't beat the price compared to OEM

I believe they are Black Harley Davidson lights

 

Thats what i thought at 1st also but, HD's still have round parking light area where as these are trapezoid shaped.
