35's with new gears. What's your MPG?

I'm wanting to get a 6 inch lift and 35's. I have stock 3.55 limited slip gears now, and I know they aren't strong enough. I have a 2006 F-150 4X4 with the 5.4 V8. This truck is my daily driver. I'm thinking 4.56 gears. I do a good bit of highway driving so 4.88's might be too low for me. I don't plan to go up to 37's. Who has 35's and can tell me your milage with whatever gears you have? And what are the best gears? A lot of people are saying Yukons

I have BFG alt with 35s and 4.56 gears and i would say i get around 13 mpg maybe 14 if im really easy on it, but if i could do one thing i would go back and not have put my 6in lift on it and just have done the leveling kit with 33s. take it from someone who has gone through it all and thought it was cool but now i would do anything to go back lol

I keep hearing that lately. I have stock 3.73s & 33s, mileage dropped 1.5 - 2mpg, but I have also heard people who re-geared 4.56 and were lifted to 35s have equivalent loss to what I did. Do you see a false in that claim since you are lifted & geared?

I would think that the 35s would make you get worse mpg than the 33s but im not 100% sure, my biggest thing is that i just wish it wasnt as high and i would really hope get better mpg.

When I was leveled with 35's I was getting a solid 15 MPG with 3.73's. I drove 80% highway/ 20% city though.

Like most things American made, it will depend on your driving habits. I have a 4.6L with 35's and 4:56 gears and get better mpg than I did stock for the most part. (20 highway, 13-15 city) I get that mpg because I don't have a lead foot. A 4.56 gear set will probably be ideal for you, especially if you tow periodically. If you never tow with your truck, you may even consider a 4.10 gear set.

I do tow and drive off road from time to time, so I'm thinking 4.56s would be good for me. I don't think I need all the torque of 4.88s. Will getting a custom tuner increase my milage and power or just get my speedometer and stuff back to normal?

x2. same here. i love the look of my truck and everything but, if i could go back, i think i would have just stuck with my level lit and my 33's. I got a 6 inch lift and 35 pro comp extreme at's and I get around 13.5, around probly 12 mpg. i don't want to pay the money to regear. i got the edge evo, helps on power, shifting, recaliberated my speedometer but DOES NOT help my mileage.

Regearing to 4.56s with 35s would improve your milage wouldn't it?

I've been reading that regearing gets you a lot of power back too. Especially low end which will make city milage better. Or at least that's what I've gathered
