Is it possible?
Is it possible?
I have an XLT, very interested in swapping to heated leather seats, and possibly.. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2005-...Q5fAccessories
Is it possible without going into extremes? Is that heat, ac, module plug and play or no? Same with heated seats, plug and play or is it a whole nother monster?

I figured, but it's nice to dream.
Anyone else if you have any, possibly experience.. Prices to expect or anything would be fantastic as well.

The seats will swap in, but as for power, may be driver only if the harness is under the carpet.
For the Heat/AC as I said before, no clue, but damn thats expensive.
Let's investiage further, maybe someone has done it or knows.

Have you pulled your dash/seats to see if the wiring harness's are there to expand your items ? If not then you would need to pull a whole new wiring harness and then you could add your wish list to reality. Its going to run you about 2 days time and alot of MF's and a couple of F me's along the way but I have added heated seats into a couple of rides not factory all aftermarket and it usually runs 2 days. One day to remove one day to install. Simple if you got the tools and time really simple if you already have the pigtails there in your ride so then it would be Plug an Play. Well good luck in which ever direction you choose to go. Oh as for price range to have a shop do all that work well the dealer will run you about $1800 cause there going to use there parts but if you have all parts needed and do your research your going to save yourself a grand easy!! do it your self your looking at 8 hours of research time ( on the phone with different dealersgetting part numbers and looking on line finding out how to make it work), 6 hours of getting parts( salvage yard) and about 20 hours of actual work time ( that and drinking a couple of beers) and all that will run you about $650 including beer oh make sure you have a friend there to lend a hand when you need another beer!!! lol

Thanks man, I know the actual seats will just bolt in.. Especially the rear, my only question is obviously they are power seats, so is there a connect or do I have to run a power option to it, and same on the A/C Control Unit.. Just not sure of who to really call to get a definite answer, besides to take my truck apart and look how it operates.
Well my friend sometimes thats all we can do. I can make a call to a friend of the family that works on the F series assembly line at ford in louisville and ask him if they all utilize the same harness and if the pigtail connectors would be under the carpet . My guess is yes everthing is there because economically it would be cheaper to mass produce one harness for each model. So I am guessing that yes its all there and the power options would already be in the truck so all you would need to do is remove your drivers seat and pull the trim panel along the door frame that holds the carpet down and look under your carpet about 8 inches in and you should see a wiring harness there. The connectors will only fit in the correct one . pull your dash trim while your at it around your radio and switch out the HVAC units and plug the extra plug into its new home. I have a '98 F150 that is an XLT and when I pulled my dash I found the wires for 4x4 stuffed way back behind my gauge cluster when I was cleaning everything out and I dont have 4x4 also I have a wiring harness under my carpet under my drivers seat for a power seat option and I have manual seats. So that leads me to believe that they use a generlized interior wiring harness I know there are some years between our trucks but I dont really see ford changing that stuff around. Just check it out and I will be shocked if its not there.

Going to check that tomorrow morning, if you find out anything please let me know. I know I talked to someone on another forum.. He said he had looked into the HVAC swap in his, and he said the plugs to the back of ours are different. I have a feeling it's the same wires, just different clip pieces.

If you pull your drivers seat out and check under the carpet let me know if there is another harness under there, I would but I don't have the star key head sockets and don't want to buy them for just that reason as I don't wanna blow $40 on something i'll rarely use ATM :o
I don't think I have one that big.. You're right, I'll have to check.
Sry was on another forum lol... well if they are different but utilize the same wires then you might just need to reset the pins in there prospective place but thats another dog altogether. I will give him a call tomorrow and find out. Then I will post back here ASAP.
Its not really al that hard its just time consuming and hard on the hands if you got meat hooks like mine lol. But on the real if you can switch the wiring pins around and put them in a new pigtail harness then your golden. I really dont see how they could be that different ... I mean thats alot of money for ford to use just to keep a lariat and a XLT seperate.... I might be able to come up with something for you give me a couple of days and I will see. But I will let you know on the wiring harness's tomorrow after I call my friend.
