Bed Bounce Solution?
You are right WINDSOR, I was looking at the wrong build date....$196 is much better, but still expensive, How do I find the Tasca guy?
Yes the toyota has a bad bounce when going over extreme terrain, but it is rock solid when on smooth road, something I cannot say for my Ford.

Hit him up for a quote in this thread. Check out the link in tbear's #44 post is this thread. That link is likely the same part.

OK, I ordered this vibration dampner, but I sold my truck before it got delivered....so it is for sale. I'll take a loss and sell it for $100 + Shipping.

I have this same issue, it drives me nuts.....
Anyone ever see this "instruction sheet" for the dampener installation? I can see where it is supposed to mount on the frame but not sure how I'm going to get the bolts through there without removing the bed.... or maybe that's the only way to do it?
On my truck its enough to very obviously see it in the rear view and feel it shaking through my seat. Always between 55 and 60mph.
Philip, that is good to hear, very encouraging.
My truck is way out of warranty, and like others I've replaced shocks, balanced tires until I'm blue in the face, done alignments, etc and nothing fixes the bed bounce issue. Dealers turn people away telling them its just the nature of the truck. Ford did release a TSB in 2006 or 2007 that mentioned this "dampener" part, and started installing it on some of the later model trucks. This is supposed to address the harmonics issue causing the vibration. The fact you have the part installed, and you don't have this issue, gives hope.
I have the part and am going to install it. I just had to order a Torx Plus 50 socket to get my bed bolts out, because I believe the only way to install this weight is to lift the bed about 1" so i can get the bolts into position. I'll be sure to report back if it helps solve the issue.
Its a very very annoying problem to have.

Mine has the weight, and I know it has rubber mounting .... I assumed metal sleeves inside the rubber. I figured if there was a way to get the bolt in from below that the nut could have gone on top.
Curious is all ......... Good Luck!
Guess you also got the rubber inserts and any sleeves that mount it?

I had to use torx plus 50 socket (TP50) to get my bed bolts out and lift the truck bed about a quarter inch, and then the dampener bolts slid into place. Got to say it was a pain in the butt to get the nuts on the bolts through those little holes in the frame. It would have been harder to get the bolts to go up from the bottom because you can't get a socket straight on from underneath, you have to work through the holes in the side of the frame rail.
But, I think worth it, because I drove about 20 miles on the truck and NO more bed bounce!
Yep, the kit came with the weight, and rubber "bushings" already installed, and a pair of bolts and nuts. But no instructions.

I wondered what it was for when I saw mine in 2009 after bringing it home and "going over it" .... then this thread came up.
Just another update. i've driven the truck for a few weeks and this kit definitely made a big difference. Under the most perfect circumstances I can visually detect a slight bouncing, but if I wasn't looking for it I wouldn't notice it. This is a very clear improvement, my bed bounce used to be so bad it would shake the cab
