Official what did you do to your truck today thread.
Hit the truck with 3 coats of Zaino Z5 as well as the black trim trim with another coat of Black Wow. Also detailed the interior and cleanup up the tires and put several coats of 303 on them. Now onto Z2 !!!!!
I replaced the VSS on the rear diff. Hopefully solves the ABS light. Dealer won't just scan it to tell me which one is broken, so looks like I'll have to do this the expensive way. They said to leave it with them for a half day to figure out which one is broken. All well and good except the only time the truck is down for a half day is when we're sleeping. Otherwise it's at one of our jobs.
I finally got to drive it 27 days after I attempted a spark plug change. Ended up pulling the heads so she got a head gasket kit set, new phasers, timing set, plugs, coils, tb cleaned, maf cleaned and a couple new pulleys. I can't believe how quiet it runs now and my scangauge is showing almost 3 mpg increase. Now I just need to do a fluid exchange on the trans, rotate the tires and modify the wiring for the tow mirrors. Then I can get back to working on my Samurai.
The rain is what made this take so long. I finally ended up with a redneck garage to finish up. Pictures later.

Well.... Let me give a little bit of back story as to why I am taking my truck into the shop today. I bought my truck(2004 lariat screw) back in fedruary. When the dealership sold me the truck, they rushed it off the lot and had not serviced it yet. So I called back and had them service it a couple of days later, expressing some of my concerns with the performance of the truck. It turns out, they had to send the truck off to get the rearend rebuilt, along with all fluid change and safety inspection. Or so i thought they checked and changed all of the fluids. Well the truck went back to them a couple more times for hard shifting issues. But this past weekend I took it to the ford dealership to have the oil changed due to an amazing special they have going on, and come to find out the coolant tank is full of coolant oil mix. It looks like an iced coffee and smells like burnt oil. The on the spot diagnosis was a headgasket. My only problem, aside from the actual problem itself is that of the four times it went to the dealership,(one of them for fluid changes and services) they didnt say one thing about it or even notice it, and for the fluid to be contaminated this bad, it had to be this way for a while. I guess the only part that eases my mind is that i bought a full bumper to bumper warranty for the truck when i got it. As a side note, I also talked to them about the cam phaser/VCT solenoid tick, so they are gonna do all that while they are in there to.
Added a black wheelskins wrap.. i like my tan and black two tone steering wheel now.. kinda matches the black and tan dash better..
also got the bed lava lined this past saturday..

This will be a two part post as I did stuff to the truck yesterday and today.
Yesterday (while at work) I cleaned the cab, washed & waxed the truck & wheels.
Today I changed the oil, using Royal Purple, and changed the fuel filter. Gotta love the spring service to keep the truck running well.
Sometime in the near future will be a plug change & install of a block heater along with a complete coolant change.
