After 2 months, I finally have my hub rings installed. It ran fine for a few miles before that dreaded steering wheel shimmy came back at around 70 MPH. Either the tires are no longer truly round, or my hubs are to blame. I'm leaning towards the tires because the rear started vibrating not too long after the front.

Washed and waxed it today. Also put $3.99 a gallon gas in it.

Washed it finally. Been raining about every day or two around here for about a month now and it was looking pretty disgusting.

washed it the other day, got armorall on the wheels and handles and stuff. probably means it will rain soon. ugh.
I turn on 4x4 typically when I'm coasting and under 35-40MPH. Have you done the vacuum/solenoid test? Basically raise the front up and leave it off. Front wheels should be locked (4x4 engaged).

Spin one wheel and the other should spin reverse direction (IWE should also rotate with spin).

Start the truck (with front still raised). Within 15 seconds, the vacuum should pull the hubs out and you'll be in 4x2.

Spin one wheel and the other should NOT spin (IWE should NOT rotate with spin).

Turn the 4x4 switch and spin one wheel and the other should spin reverse direction (IWE should also rotate with spin).
