Finally got my wife to leave the truck home today so I could inspect it.
It has had a popping noise on the driver side for a few weeks now.

I found the upper balljoint worn completely out.
I got a new replacement upper arm assembly and installed it today.
Truck is now fixed and no more popping noises!

Installed new windshield/wiper cowls on Friday. The old ones were faded and cracked from 12 years of weather in the midwest. Took about 15 minutes, easy fix that makes the truck look almost new again.

Today has been pretty productive, did a few things. Changed the oil, replaced the inline fuel filter and replaced both IWE actuators in the front. And got a few more things in store for tomorrow.

1. Replaced the gear shifter with an OEM replacement. Got tired of the split chrome poking me in the palm of my hand. Also had to replace the spring since that thing shot off into no mans land when I took off the old shifter. Made a temporary one from a ball point pin spring. The OEM replacement spring was $12.22, dang steep price to pay for a spring IMO, but if I had been paying attention I would have not lost the original.

2. Replaced climate control switches since the LED for the A/C had a short and lit up about every 2K miles for a day or two. When I had the radio bezel off, I put on new retention clips to hold it tighter and eliminated a squeak by doing so.

Currently installing my rancho quick lift struts and shock absorbers and then my new Power Stop KC rotors and calipers on all four corners. Should be a good day.

AND I also bought my step father a truck yesterday. Identical to mine, just a different color and a sun roof.

His is the black one.

Got amazingly lucky and scored a Brand New Harley Davidson Grille on CL for $375. Had to travel 2 hours for it, the seller purchased it brand new, had it painted black by Ford then sold his truck before installing it. It's currently getting painted white by a good friend over at Ford for only $50. Not bad, brand new HD Grille for $425 considering there selling for over $600 unpainted

What needs to be painted on them -- the surround.....???

I've been looking at getting one for my truck but haven't been able to get over the ridiculous price Ford asks for them......
