I can tell you that it is not settling. With the max tow package the 3.5 Eco is rated at 12,500# towing. From driving it personally for the last week I can say it made my old 5.4L 3V feel like a toy.

Wait another year for the new 4.8l V8 Eco to come out.

Been a seriously long time since i have done anything other than wave goodbye to it, and on a every couple of weeks to a month basis, start it up and move it, since the phaser issue crept up and budget is at the bottom of the heap since the last few rounds of budget cuts... But I am picking it back up.
Today I did...
#1. Replaced the leaky, well. Water filled OEM headlights with a pair of Spec D Black Euro headlights. (OEM copies with blackout backs and chrome reflector bowls, not super fancy, but I like them...).
#2. Threw in a pair of Sylvania Silverstar Ultra bulbs.
#3. Swapped in a pair of Pilot LED Turn siglan bulbs.
#4. Swapped in a pair of Sylvania side marker LED bulbs.
#5. Swapped in an LED compatible turn signal relay from superbright LEDs.
Previously I had swapped in a Champion AGM battery from Sams Club. I leave it disconnected between runs. I also had a pair of the Pilot LED stop / turn / tail bulbs that I threw in only to discover hyperflashing...
Prior to parking the truck, I had dropped in a quart of Marvel Mystery Oil. Upon starting the truck this past weekend, something odd happened. The phaser tick got louder for a few seconds, and then faded, quickly, to nothing. And the CEL went out.
I am thinking, most likely out of blind oblivious optimistic hope that the Mystery oil might have had time and gravity to do its thing and cleared the crap out of the oil journals in the heads and phaser solenoids.
I am goint to change oil again, and try that out.
Now IF by some miracle of miracles the cam phaser issue has gone away, and I hope like crazy it has, I have some issues to finish taking care of before I take it in for inspection and tags...
#1. Figure out where that @#%^ exhaust leak is coming from. And fix it. Perhaps since it has been down so long, use this as an opportunity to finally do a 2.5x2.5x3" Y pipe into a 3" exhaust with flowmaster mufflers.
#2. Figure out and fix whatever is clunking in the front end. All the suspension pieces are solid as a rock. I suspect we are dealing with IWEs acting up...
#3. Cooling system flush, hoses, and thermostat.
#4. Tear down brakes and lube all slides.
#5. Complete the front coil spring swap from the lousy Rancho Quicklift Springs to the Moog payload package springs to get the nose out of the weeds.
#6. Complete the trowing package wiring harness install / LED under bumper aux reverse light install.
