Official what did you do to your truck today thread.
What size were the old set? If they were OE size, you jumped up 2" which usually looks pretty drastic.
They look a little bigger but not all that much. Ill grab a pic sometime soon at any rate. I had 275/70s on my old 99, those filled her wheel wells out really well, loved that look.
255/70/17 - 31"
265/70/17 - 31.60"
255/75/17 - 32"
Used to have 245/70s, that came with the truck. Now those looked small.
Maybe the tread on your last set was so bald that you had much less tire? But I assure you all of those tire sizes might not be exactly the same, but they're close enough the human eye wouldn't notice a difference.
theres not that much of a tread difference though. The 75 tires had enough that I put them away for possible future use. The new ones have some life left, but you can tell they're used. The 255/70s were almost new tread wise, so it's kind of a shame that one was shot, and leaking.
I
The 265 will be wider than any 255. However, the 255/75 is going to have a taller sidewall and have a larger circumference than a 265/70. The 255 or 265 is the width of the tire. The 70 or 75 is the aspect ratio. Meaning the sidewall is to be 70 or 75% of how wide the tire is. 75% of 255 is taller than 70% of 265.
And, while going up or down 1/2" isn't going to massively fill or unfill the wheel well, a tire with even a 1/2" larger circumference should be noticeable.
Anyway, all that matters is you don't have a tire that's leaking air anymore.
I'd figure the same, unless it was really off. But the differences in the sizes you converted to inches wouldn't be enough to make much of a visible difference either. And there isn't much of one. I especially wouldn't notice a difference In the back, which is where the 255/75s were, cause the wheel wells have so much room in back.
