Added an exhaust tip to go with the chrome wheels and door levers. Going to put on some chrome nerf bar soon as well.

Tip was only 25$.

I painted my mirror caps white today, looks pretty good. Now I have to remove the rest of the mirror housing and spray it black so the faded plastic will look just as good.

Probably the last detail of the season. But who knows, it's 60° today in Vermont and we have yet to see any snow.

As promised, pics! I didn't bother to take progress pics.

The cap/front half whatever thing. Lo,

I removed the whole mirror to paint the rest. Pretty easy since I've taken my door panels off many times over the years.

Good job.

I take it you sanded smooth, primed, pained and clear coated? Did you use adhesion promoter? And did you have an actual spray gun or did you use rattle cans?

I sanded the texture off the white area only, left the texture on the black part because that is how it is on the factory trucks I looked at. The white part was cleaned well with isopropyl alcohol and sprayed with a gun with primer and then the white. The white paint is actually a special aircraft paint that has a gloss protective finish in the paint. Its very durable and matched nearly perfectly. The black is rattle can paint made for plastic and is flat black. Again cleaned with isopropyl alcohol before painted.
