Finished prepping the undercarriage for its upcoming 8th winter involving lots of salt.

Por 15 on bed supports and hitch. Frame, suspension, axle, ect is rustoleum semi gloss.

Sprayed behind spare, bed supports, rockers, up between rockers and frame (cab area), door lips, tailgate lip, behind inner wheel wells with a heavy coat of fluid film.

Ready for another winter.

If they're original, I'd replace them at 140k if I was doing everything else. Then you don't need to get another alignment.

I did just the outers a couple months back when I was re doing the front end. The moog ones are cheap and it's a super easy job. Just if you do it, break the nut free connecting the inner and outer tierod before disconnecting the tierod from the spindle. I learned the hard way and it made it much harder.

Funny using the scan gauge with a manual. Coasting down a hill in neutral, I've gotten up to 132 instant mpg. Ha

After all the spray painting I did to the undercarriage, the whole truck felt like sandpaper because I was lazy and didn't cover it.

Clay bar took it all off. Put one coat of LG on. Will do another tomorrow and then top it with 845.

Replaced the factory fuel filter on my truck -- even though the vehicle only has 2999 miles on it, I figured the 10-year mark was a good time to do it as a preventative maintenance measure. Now I should be good until 2025.....

After reading all the posts about people struggling with removing the fuel filter on these trucks I was wondering how much of a booger it was going to be. However, I'm going to go out on a limb and say this was actually one of the EASIEST fuel filter replacements I've ever done on a vehicle. Maybe the stars just aligned perfectly today and I got lucky with it.....

Got some tiny 1/2" spacers today. They measure 1/4" thick. Just trying to get the stance exactly how I want it. I've been going up and down for a couple years now. Hopefully this is what I'm looking for.

Did pads on the front (30k and not even 1/2 worn) but decided to get it done to preserve the 1-piece hub/rotors these 2WD's have.
Also resprayed my front bumper after treating the small pitted chips in the paint.
Next is new rubber before the snow flies.

Did you end up going with that paint I recommended a while back? How's it look?

For a while now, I've been having trouble with a new but faulty valve stem, and been thinking the same tire was leaking around the rim. Well, after getting off work to a total flat at 11 last night, then waking up to another, I swapped the tire for the spare (mismatched rims really don't look good, haha) and discovered a hole. I don't trust the spare tire much (I think it's stock, ie an 11 year old tire) and it's underinflated, so I threw the leaking tire in my '02 and picked up the little parts to fix the valve stem, did so, then took it to a gas station to fnd their air pump out of order, so went to another station, and plugged it.

Back on the truck, it's down a fair bit, but It wasn't quite full at the air pump and now having the weight of the truck on it, I figured it just needed more air, so went out for a bite to eat with my dad....upon return, it's almost flat. Long story short, ended up fixing an error with the valve stem repair, hand pumped it enough to limp to the nearby gas station, and noticed it still hissing while filling it. found a second small hole. Thankfully, that was a feasible fix while still on the truck. I can't say I'm thrilled about having 2 plugs in the tire, but it'll have to do for now.

I don't want to go near any tire work again for a while
