Trying to track a squeak. I know a belt will soon be a wise purchase, thinking the belt tensioner is the culprit. I guess she's shop bound to make sure. And if it costs too much, she'll likely end up with an extra dent or 2

Getting a shorter serpentine belt will surely save you s lot. It'll cost you $20-$25 if you do it yourself. Those belts are easy on these trucks anyway.

oh it gets warm. Not quite as warm as florida, I'm sure, but hot nonetheless. I just roll down the windows and deal with it. Thinking "it could be winter..." helps tremendously lmao. If i can walk long distances and otherwise exert myself in it, i can sit in a truck in it. As is currently being proven, it's something else to give out. She's a base model workhorse, I don't want a ton of extras. I want a reliable truck I'm not afraid to scratch.
Thankfully the A/C has already been bypassed on the 02.
Since I purchase this truck about a month and half ago I spent some coin and now just doing some general maintenance. I put a drop in KN filter, GOTTS mod, change oil and fuel filter today. I plan on installing the new quick struts with 2.5 leveling kit next week along with alignment.
About 250 miles on trans rebuild everything good so far! Also seen some MPG improvement since trans rebuild.
Back in November 2011 I lowered the '07 2" in back by removing the OEM blocks and substituting shorter 9/16 dia ubolts from "Stengle Bros." and I lowered the front a like amount by relocating the lower front shock eye.
Under the steel saddle clamp where the U-bolts get nuts I had installed the supplied 9/16" hardened washers and 9/16" "well nuts" (about twice as long as standard nuts) and then I had torqued them several steps and after no more, I slipped shorter standard 9/16" nuts up against them to "lock" them and protect some thread.
They make them U-bolts with really long threaded ends that you cut excess off. Mine had a good "inch plus" left below the second lock nut and I meant to whack them off long ago. Today I had her around back cleaning the bed where I hauled some blocks and finally backed her up on the ramps and took my sawsall under there and cut the excess off flush with the lock nuts (below well nuts) and smoothed them with sander wheel and then painted the U-bolts, nuts, saddles, axle, all of it ..... looks GREAT!

I need to do the same. The u bolts I have are much longer than needed. I have a good 2-3" sticking out below that I need to cut off.
