It was warm yesterday, so I finally took some Foamy Engine Brite to the engine to clean the 96K miles of crud off of the engine compartment. Followed it up after it dried up with Engine Brite Shine. Haven't looked since that has dried.

Got the "stuff" organized and ready to go for the tranny repair, still waiting on the lift to become available... The tranny in my BIL's truck is out of it and he is waiting for some build parts to come in. Need to touch base with him to see where that stands. I REALLY need this truck going. My FIL is going to be spending time with us, and he has a HUGE problem getting in and out of the Saturn...

I added the second layer of dynamat and dynaliner for the 2 front doors

previously I did put dynamat behind the 4 doors and dynamat and dynaliner on the floors, sides and roof

is it worth the price? only if you have a good sound system and really like music, it is also great for the incar bluetooth stereo
but this is pricey

I've noticed a big difference after adding the second layer of dynamat and dynaliner for the front doors

I tried frost king on my other car but its nowhere near close the sound reduction than dynamat, and with the heat and cold the frost king doesn't stick on metal making it useless, I can't believe that some people use frost king for their vehicles, either do it well with dynamat + dynaliner or don't do it

First time doing belt related mechanics. Had fun, and overall easy. Just be patient and drink beer after complete to enjoy!

Engine whine and I believe alternator noise is gone...Lights still dim when the bass hits. May switch to 35 W ballasts from TRS...
No capacitor?

@Kmac,

I've never owned one. And If I did install one I have no space for it. I have 3 amps, and 2 audiocontrol controllers back there. A box for two 12s and a seat lift so yeah...what I need with the new 200 amp alt is another battery but I am not looking forward to replacing and/or misplacing something else just for another battery just yet

This is the one I got. Works pretty good.

What's the third amp to? 1 for subs, 1 for doors, 1 for . . . ? Using a cap would be much more economical than dual batteries, even if you have to squeeze it. I mean, it isn't recommended to be drawing that much on your electrical system without one, is it? Audio ain't my forte though. Might as well just take the whole rear seat out, then you'd have plenty of space!

Over the past 7 days I replaced my right side half shaft with a Motorcraft TX455 to fix a torn inner boot. Removed rear diff cover and repainted. Replaced rear pinion seal with a Ford OEM BL3Z -4676-A. Filled rear diff with 8oz of Motorcraft XL3 friction modifier and Valvoline full syn 75W-140. Sealed diff cover with Permatex gear oil RTV gasket maker. Drained transfer case and filled with Valvoline ATF Mercon V.
Replaced map lights w/ Vleds 6000k’s and waiting for dome to arrive. Thanks MGDFAN & KMAC. Installed Bushwacker pocket flares and Westin Platinum 4” oval nerf bars. I ordered and received a factory jack assembly, matching 18x9 wheel, used Nitto Terra Grappler 325/65R18 . Had it mounted and balanced yesterday and today I cranked it into place. Fits like a glove and about an inch from exhaust. I’ll monitor that spacing and adjust if needed.

Very pleased ... No more speed limiter, transmission shifts much better, throttle response is good... I don't have any track times to verify actual improvement, but the "back in the seat" power does feel better.... .. Scheduled gear install for next Tuesday ... I will report ASAP ... Everybody can either say " I told you so" or "' I am very sorry , you are a gear selecting, supercharged driving, tire roasting , gear slapping , custom tuning, electric fan turning , street truck guru".... I can swallow my pride and will tell if the gears suck... I recorded my rpms now at certain speeds, and will do so again after dem gears get in....

Had a single in dual out Original Flowmaster 40 installed with 4" SS tips. A little quite on idle, but very nice sound during throttle! My previous 2006 XLT had a Super 40 on. Not sure which I like more?

Let the mods begin

Cheers

Nem
