Someone please come put a built 6.0 or 6.4 PSD with dual turbos and custom tunes, complete with new tranny, transfer case, driveshafts, heavy duty front springs, and oh a locked Dana 60 rear-end in my F-150. Please?

Oh and racing slicks. Would be required for any type of drivability.

No doubt, the Tundras are way faster than a Ford. I think Tundras look great too. If I had been looking for a "sport truck" that's what I would have bought.

But I needed a truck, to be used a truck (to haul my boat) and speed wasn't really a consideration.

I love my Ford for what I bought it for. No regrets. But if I had money coming out my ears, I'd probably buy a Tundra, and a GMC Sierra too. As well as about 14 sports cars

Peace,
Fish

Ford will always be behind in HP numbers compared to everyone else. New Hemi's have 390hp, Tundra's have 380, I don't know what the GM 6liters have. It would be nice if Ford attempted to keep up with those numbers.

my dad has an 07 tundra and it is no comparison to my f150. it rides like crap (funny how consumer reports says the tundra rides nice and the f150 is bumpy...but i guess they are way too far up toyotas butt).

i also installed a set of air lift rear air bags for towing our boat...the truck didnt like em because it vibrates and shutters when accelerating. the toyota tech that looked at em said "yeah these trucks dont like aftermarket stuff on them...theyre just not made for that like the fords chevys and dodges are."

and if you watch the bed on the freeway, that thing is a bucking bronco! it bounces all over the place lol....their frames go from fully boxed under the engine compartment, to reinforced C channel under the cab, the plain ol C channel under the bed. good thing we have fully boxed in our 150s! my dad cant wait till ford comes out with the new engines so he can get back into an f150.

oh yeah and the truck can only muster 15 mpg on an all hwy trip just cruising. my f150 easily pulls off 18.

I think Ford's on the right track with eco-boost. Putting boost in a smaller displacement engine makes a lot more sense all the way around. But lets face it, all of the engines mentioned are making over 1 hp per cubic inch. Ford is below that mark. If they can make 400 hp out of the 5.0, there's no reason they can't get more horsepower out of the current mod motors. However, they're going to have to go the drawing board to turn the small bore, long stroke 5.4 at a higher rpm to be able to achieve it. I think we'll see the 6.2 in F-150s eventually.

them tundras are fast iv never raced one but when my truck was stock i raced TACOMA on the highway and the thing friggin beat me....i was like WTF!!
but since my add ons ive beatin the 06ish dodge ram with exhaust as far as i know....i see the kid on the highway all the time and we always race and i always win haha he gets me at first but them i pull right by. ive beatin an older like 95ish dodge ram 2500 cummins that had exhaust the race went about the same with him. and ive beatin a 2005 silverado with the 5.3that had exhaust and k&n intake(i used to work with him) and i beat him easily. oh and i got beat by nissan 3.5L the other day at a set of lights and he had an aftermarket emblem on the back "TURBO" i wasnt very impressed seeing those are supposed to be pretty quick little cars and his supposedly had a turbo and it barley beat me. and thats my racing career......haha

Nope none at all. They are pretty dang fast, but what pushrod V8 isn't? Thats ok though. We are lucky they are fast ya know why? I'll tell you why, because the faster their hideously ugly front end is out of my sight, the better.
