I think anything manufactured past June...6th month is considered the next year model. In your case an 2006.

So I talked to the Stealer.... Truck is not in warranty.

They say that the 5 year 60 thousand power train warranty was not until 07.
And not vaild on 05's and 06's

So I made an appointment with buddy at a local performance shop for tomorrow.

Hey if you've got to fix it, FIX IT RIGHT!!!

Will keep you guys posted as to what we find.

You might want to call Ford directly on this and have them check your VIN and your purchase date.

My truck was purchased 09-09-06. That is when the warranty 3/36 went into effect. The original owner acutally had the 5/60 on it. It didn't transfer to me because I'm not the original owner so I go what's left of the 3/36 (expires today). To my understanding it was trucks BOUGHT after a certain date in the middle of 06 that came with the 5/60

I thought the build date was the deciding factor on whether it has 3/36 or 5/60. His truck was built in august of 05 and it sat on the lot for 1.5 years before he bought it. Any thing from july of 06 on got 5/60, before then only got 3/36, doesn't matter when it was bought, its when it was built.

Could be. My understanding was Ford added onto the warranty to promote sales in the middle of that year. That's what the lady told me when I called Ford. You're probably right but I'd sure be calling to find out after looking at that bill!

Just called the 800-Ford number...

I got excited at first because they told me my coverage is up to 75k or 11/10/09...

I ?'d this then they said yes for your 04 Mustang.

Sadly I had to let them know I was calling about the 06 F-150.

They then said that I am out of my Bumper to Bumper warranty of 3 year or 36k
BUT that I have a "complementary" power train warranty of 5 years or 60k!!!!

So I think before going to the shop.
I'm going to Ford and try and sort this out.

Cool! I guess my memory isn't that bad. I was sure that's what the lady told me. It was the date put into service not the build date.

You should have just remembered you had that coverage in the first place and saved yourself some heartache.

Crap, Now you worry me about mine.. It has a good vibration from 45 all the way to 65/70 mph. I have had the driveshaft rebalanced, the wheels/tires rebalanced, and the rearend checked and rechecked since the gears. This makes me think its the damn transmission.. I tried the OD earlier and it was pretty crummy.

I thought about getting a flush/oil/filter last month but blew it off cause the overall concensous was not to rock the boat. I would be super pissed If i got an oil change and the tranny took a dump, where as if I had left it alone it would have taken a dump farther down the road Please let us know what they find asap!

Mr. eXtreme, when you say that you had a shake in the truck how bad was it? The reason that I ask is because this weekend we went on a road trip to my bro and sis-in-laws house, and twice with the cruise set at 60 mph after coasting down 2 different hills I noticed a very slight "shake" right before the motor got under load again. The first time it happened I thought it was just a little wash board in the road, but after doing it twice I started to wonder. It never happened again after those 2 times, and I put over 80 miles on after those 2 times(15 more miles to his house and 65 miles back home a couple hours later). My tranny temps weren't any higher than normal, 138-144 range the entire time
