Wait, didn't you just get in under the wire for the 5/60 powertrain warr? If you did, it should not cost anything. It sounds like your dealer is trying to pull a fast one.

Trans went out at 58,000 just took off and no go. Smoke everywhere and under the truck a huge puddle of trans fluid, no reverse no 4x4 nothing. Towed to dealer, and they are fixing it under warranty. I will let you guys know more info as I get it. I guess these transmissions dont like 35's and 3.55 gears with an edge.

Yeah I did... I got in with a whole 4,000 miles to spare.

There wouldn't be a deductable?

HELP... I pick the truck up some time between 7 and 8 tonight

If its being covered by the 5/60 powertrain warr, then no there should not be a deductible. If they try to charge you, don't pay it.

The deductible is for the extended warr. Sounds like your dealer might be confused, thinking the repair is under the extended instead of the 5/60 p-train.

Well I left a message with service. Then talked to the Quick Lube shop. And they said it shows that there is a deductable on the warranty. Just going to wait and go there tomorrow to pick it up and talk to someone. Because if I pick it up tonight I'd have to pay for it at the front desk because service closed at 6. And in order to get my keys I'd have to pay for it. So I figure rather then talking to someone there who is totaly clueless and paying then having to try and get a refund. I may as well just wait and sort it out tomorrow. I'll let you know the out come!

My uncle's '05 Lariat lived a very leisurely life and remained all stock, and still the transmission died very early, just out of warranty. My '07 has been fine but 60K is coming up QUICK..so I don't know if it's psychological or not, but I think I'm noticing mine is acting a little funny sometimes. I HATE reading these threads of transmission troubles.

I HATE that I had to start it...

So I did end up picking up the truck last night because I need it for work this weekend. However in the 10 miles it took me to get home the whole time I heard a clicking/ticking sound... Much like that of a baseball card in a bike wheel. Anyway... After getting it home I climbed under the truck to take a look and listen. My guess and hope is that it's the exhaust the Y-Pipe where it meets up with the manifolds. At idle could hear it slightly and under acceleration it's really annoying... So back to the dealer it went again. At 11pm last night. Waiting on word as to what they find.

Funny part of the story is that it seems I just can't get a break.
So I got to the dealer at 8 just in time before closing to pay for and get the keys for my truck went back at 10 to pick it up with my Fiance. Then the new problem. Got home investigated and back to the dealer at 11. Then home AGAIN... However after dropping the truck this time. I forgot my wallet. Keys in the drop slot and luckly I had a spare remote because I had replaced mine do to the LCD screen on it cracking but it still worked. BUT the battery was dead. So off to buy a AAA battery and then off to the dealer to get my wallet. Then HOME YET AGAIN.... Following all this a few much needed
at 12:15 am. And back to work today at 6... WHAT GIVES...

The clicking noise could be your IWE system, that's exactly what mine sounded like when it went out both times, on both trucks. I don't believe the IWE falls under the 5/60 p-train warr so unless you have the extended warr, your better off buying the part and installing it yourself. I've heard the IWE solenoid is about ~30 bucks takes about 2 minutes to install.

Forgive my ignorance... But what does IWE stand for? What does it do?

Could it have been messed up when it was in for service?
It wasn't doing this prior to me taking it in... And they put all of two miles on it
