Angry Stupid registration bill !

First off, I know that anybody from any state other than Cali, is going to be like.... "See ! See ! That's why I don't live in Cali" ! Well that's fine we do have too many here already, anyway. So, if you need any more reasons 'not' to move here, just ask ;-)

I'm just curious if anybody, anywhere else in the country, for ANY other F150 (I don't even care if it's an HD or a Limited Edition) has paid a higher registration bill than I just recieved ?
Drumroll please..... $455 !!!

I remember in Louisiana, back in like 95' the registration was a flat rate of like $10 > every other year.... and it didn't matter if you owned a freaking Ferrari ! (granted, that was the lamest place I've ever spent 3 years of my life.... but cheap registration, anyway)

Oh well. I guess this is part of the price I pay, for the best big bass fishing on the whole planet. No snow and ice in the Winter. The greatest cultural diversity (which is great, for a whacko like me, to fit right in ;-)

Anyway, I just had an idea..... When I send them the check, I'm going to ask them if they will at least provide the KY jelly, for a screwing like this ?

don't like it move. i pay 100 bucks but we have a gas tax added on to make up for it. i would rather pay 435 than 100 and no gas tax. for example, i buy at least 100 gallons a week in the winter, x 4 weeks a month on average, 80 bucks a month for a gas tax. they will get there money one way or another, no matter where you live. paying 455 would be great !!

Yea.....

I had heard that our registration prices were going to be doubling later this year, and I was hoping I'd make the cutoff.... But apparently not :-(

Oh well. It's still a great state > if you have $$$$$$$$$

Does your registration cost stay constant or does it go down over the years?

Az it goes down every year, not sure if cali is the same.

Mine was $473. The increase on the DMV fee isn't effective till May 19th and only the vehicle license fee is increasing.

In OH it varies on the county and city you live in. For my truck, plates, registration, etc. on a non-com half ton truck is 68 bucks a year.

Hey Alomar, yea, it does go down each year, based on the decreasing value of your vehicle..... but its not exactly proportional. Your vehicle could depreciate down to where it's worth $50 at the local wrecking yard, and your bill still might be $100.
BTW Alomar, it sounds like AZ sticks it in you pretty bad too, huh ?

Dark Knight, well you got me beat (barely) but your from Cali too... so....

Oh hey, eductate my dum-bass on something here.... You said only the "vehicle license fee" is going to double. Okay, so how much of my $455 bill is the VLF, and how much is the registration ?

Fish

BTW Atom
don't like it move
uhhh.... don't you think that might be just a bit of an over-simplification ? I mean, I don't like commercials either, but that doesn't mean I'm going to quit watching TV :-)

and you guys willingly pay this crap?

I paid a straight $65/year back home in Texas. For my 1971 Chevy truck, or my brand new (at time) 1998 F-150.

Hawaii wants $350 each time my truck comes around, but luckily I'm exempt...and Washington kept screwing with my registration from 2004-2007. Went from $36 to $80ish, then back down to about $40

I understand Cali is hurting for money, but whats the deal with screwing with people's rides? is the Public Transportation that good? can they afford to be making more people walk/bus to work to gain a few bucks by jacking the registration fees?

The VLF on my registration was $203, so I'm sure yours is somewhere in the same ballpark.
