jokre received, lol. If healthcare was free, our taxation is gonna be absurd and things will happen like our neighbors to the north~people die before they can get operations and whatnot because of the waiting line. people are even paying to have health insurance to go to private doctors and such. like everyone, we have our pet peeves about things gov't related. IMO america needs a real hard kick in the *** to get it back on track.

Isn't that the truth! I guess that we have to choose our battles, so tonight, registration fees were on the docket.

Damn, thanks for all of the support guys :-)

BTW Atom, our state sales tax is a little over 8%, not 10%, but I think that's plenty high enough.

Yea', I like to drive on nicely paved roads too..... but instead, many of our public roads are in such bad shape, they will flat beat you, and your vehicle to death ! Every time I bang the crap out of a canyon in the road, I have to ask, And WTF are these stupid expensive registration bills helping with ?
It might be a bit easier to pay a $455 reg bill, if we had some of the nicest roads in the country, but that just isn't the case.

I feel the same about fishing license..... I'd gladly pay my $60 a year (for the regular license + all of the add on stuff) if this helped to increase our fishing opportunities..... Heck, I'd pay $200 ! But instead, our fishing opportunities are disappearing into thin air, and faster than ever now, with all this quagga mussel BULL****. {sensitive subject there}.

So anyway, hell yea I'm crying.

I thought I was going to be buying some stuff for the truck, and boat..... but that will just have to keep on effing waiting :-(

Oh well.

Peace,
Fish

You can tell by the count of numbers and letters on the plate. A truck has only one letter I believe and cars have 3 letters."
I'm pretty sure that's wrong. My truck has commercial plates, and the only reason I was allowed to get them was because I registered it under my family's ranch property which is a commercial business.

And its not just about numbers and letters, its also about the order they come in.

Hey Atom
60 bucks for fishing~ i had a hard time shelling out 25!
Ya' see now, "most other guys around here" cry about our expensive fishing license.... and if a guy only fishes a handful of times each year, heck yea' they are expensive. But I typically fish more than 100 days / 1000 hours per year. So for myself, it's probably my best spent money all year.... again, if only it were used to optimum effect... which unfortunatly.....

Hey mSaLL, actually, I went to the CA DMV website, and it looked to me like that was correct. Trucks are pretty much automatically classified as commercial. It then went on to give a small list of things you could do to change that... like a camping shell that makes it habitable (a fiberglass bedcover won't cut it :-(

But then, you would need to pay for a new, non-commercial license plate.... and I kind of like my non-personalized plate, which looks personalized at a glance, and it pretty easy to remember....

Hmmm,
Fish

Wow, and I though paying $60 to NYS plus the $20 for vechile useage fee to the county in NY was bad.But the taxes are bad here.On 180 acres here in NY , that is assessed for farming is almost $5000 a year. This is between school and property taxes. My dad's is even worse different county just under 300 acres and between the school and propery taxes is $13,000 for the year.Living in the Wine country area, really has driven up the land values. In NY you can get a Super Sportsmens License that is for Fishing,Small & Big Game Hunting, Bow, and Muzzleloader for $68 bucks a year.I think they are raising it to $88 this year.

Well here in TN it depends which county you live in as each county adds its own wheel tax on top of the states amount of 22 bucks. plus I happen to live in one of the 6 counties in the state that makes you do the smog inspection. I had to pay 79 bucks plus the 9 dollar insection fee for the county I live in.

I never really payed attention to it til this thread, but if you look at the plates on a truck, there is only one letter on the plate.

Passenger cars and suvs have three letters.

The one letter makes it a comercial plate. I took alook at this when i went to get coffee this morning. Every truck had one letter, cars and suvs had three.

Hmm well I must have a different class of commercial plates...I know I have certain privileges that other trucks dont have because of my specific plates.
