I hate sand

First off, apparently the stock Limited Slip is virtually non existent. So we looked at a house on the bay, and there was a lot on next to it, and my dad wanted to go down there, so I drove(2wd) We get back there, he LITERALLY said "stop turn around" but he didn't mean ACTUALLY stop. so I hit the break to turn around and he starts screaming "NO NO NO GO GO GO" So I started going, and then in a hole . We found boards laying around and kept trying to jack it up and put the boards under the tires, then the tires(bald and caked with sand) just spun and smoked and it was worthless. Had a hand winch, but the cable is apparently short as crap So we tried that for around 45 minutes, then my dad starts going back, then he said screw it ima try to go out, and threw it in drive, went RIGHT back in the hole and made it worse. It was atrocious, finally called my sister and used her tow hook to hook the winch to and crank it out. My dad guilt tripped me(not on purpose) saying how it was his last day at the beach, he just wanted to look go back and go to the beach and relax before we went to dinner. We got back to the place around 5, and we had reservations for 5:30, and we were filthy, my white polo had turned brown All in All, I wish I was A. 4wd, 2. Lifted............ SCREW STOCK LIMITED SLIP! and I burned my hand on my exhaust tips around 4011 times. Sorry, just a little rant!

Lesson learned, don't go in sand with the truck? I'll remember that, I live near the beach and always wanted to gun it through there in the middle of the night.

My dad said, Lesson learned never let me drive anywhere I have no prior experience with it. and apparently my dad said down there, you can't get a beach permit for your truck or whatever unless it's 4wd.

ah, just chalk it up to experience. Just about everyone has stuck a truck once in a while. Especially when doing it for the first few times. I was lucky enough to grow up on a farm. I can still remember burrying my grandfather's 1982 4x2 F-150 to the frame in sand when I was about 8. LOL Then to watch him (with years of experience of course) get in it and pop it out of the sand in just a few minutes.

I thought my dad was going to stab me. Cause he grew up on a farm, he was like why did you not stay on the trailed path? Why did you go where you could tell no one had been? He was like you get stuck occasionally and it's a pain in the *** so you learn to avoid it the best you can.

I'm glad you got it out and didn't have to call a tow truck.

Yeah me too, I was like this is going to cost 150+ bucks to get outa this hell hole. I just went on about how I needed a lift, and 4wd. He wasn't very happy with that.

I take my truck on the beach, it's a 4x2, lowered, has an LS, and I've yet to be stuck in the sand, or anywhere for that matter.

As already said, chalk it up to experience. You've definitely learned from it.

Yeah. I think the stock LS, is a complete waste. The one tire was just spinning on nothing, What gives?

Yeah, I definitely learned my lesson!

Last saturday I sunk my 4x4 polaris ranger over the frame, lol. It was in a pipeline. The rangers have awd. There was 4inches of mud on the floor board of the ranger. There was water to the bottom of the bed, mud over the back axle. The ranger needed tires bad and there was 3 people in it, a cooler, guns, all sorts of crap. We couldnt get a truck through the creek to get it out. The 2 wheelers we had with us didnt have enough power to pull me out. I got it stuck at 10:00pm. At 3:30am it rolled out of the hole, lol. We had to get a cummalong, and a hi lift jack. We threw a huge rock in the mud on the front of the ranger and placed the hi lift on top of it. Jacked the ranger up while cranking with cummalong and eventually it got enough traction to get out. In the process we tried: pulling, pushing, jumping, sitting, rocking, got the ramps and tried to get traction, threw rocks in the hole, stumps. We ended up breaking the valve stem off one of the front tires and the other one just went flat. The ranger idled in that stuff for 4 hours and drove back to the trailer a mile a way. Carrying the ramps, cables, straps, jacks, ramps, people. The drive back was difficult but it pulled threw. It was really hot because the mud caked everything. I couldnt see any of the frame, lol. I then got to spend an hour at the car wash and another 2 at my house cleaning up. The next day I went and bought a hilift jack and cummalong to mount on the ranger. New ITP mudlites were ordered so im ready for more action, lol.

Did I have fun? Yes. At times it got redundant, but me and my buddies had a good time.

I learned a lot and am more prepared for the next round.
