Did you think about trying to air down your tires? You got to get them low like 15psi or lower, it will help a lot with traction. Thats driving on soft beach sand 101.

Didn't even think about it. But then I would of been driving around with virtually flat tires?

One of the first things I got for my truck was a little cheap air compressor. Just in case

Not a bad idea, throw it in the toolbox. I'm buying a longer cabled hand winch here soon.

Yeah, this LS is crap. My dad asked how much he got screwed out of(money wise) Cause either, it doesn't have LS, or it's broken.

In everyone of my Mustangs I swapped out the LS with an Eaton and it worked great. Mine gave me problems when it was new but for some reason it works better now.

I really wish I was 4x4, or I want to get a winch. I don't have around 1500-1600 for a winch though.

On an 8.8 you can throw some extra clutch packs in there to tighten it up. You can test it out to see if your LS works at all. Jack the truck up (rear) and turn the tires. In park it should be very hard to turn or not turn at all. In neutral both tires should turn the same direction while you are turning one.

Bigger tires and a better driving technique and you would probably be all set. Thats the reason that I bought my 4x4. Those one or two times where you really need it. Mine's a pavement queen 98% of the time.

How do you throw clutch packs? How much $$? Yeah, it "works" just poorly

Yeah, I didn't pay for it, so I can't really complain.

The lesson here is, don't go in the sand with a 2x4

With a 4x4 there's no problem.

Went up and down 2 times here, didn't get stuck once and with ****ty all terrain tires (Open Country AT).
