Smoked my LED tails

I have seen any other threads about this. I dont think I am the first to do this. I smoked some ugly chrome LED tails. I think they turned out great.

Here are some pics of my OEM tails smoked compared to the LEDs. You can definantly see them better during the day. I also did the 3rd brake light.

OEM

LED

Nice Job, I'm eventually going to buy some LED tails too and black them out, soon as I can figure out which ones I like, I definitely don't like the ones with the hump in them(sorry) I like more of the factory look but your's came out nice.

BTW-I don't care what anyone says, I think the line-of-fire LEDs look great, I get compliments on mine all the time & they are great for safety, main reason I got mine was because of how dark the taillights are during the day....didn't want anyone rear-ending me.

Yea, I might eventually get those stock looking LED tail. But I couldnt pass up the deal from the f150store on these. Now I know the LED looks good smoked. The little fin doesn't look as bad smoked either. I love my line of fire. Especially when that super white reverse comes on, everyone always asks about it.

I had help on these and my OEM tails. The main thing is that we used a mixture of black paint and clear to get the right shade. I like it pretty dark. Then they are wet sanded again and sprayed with clear again and waxed. Its basically a small body shop paint job.

superbright bulb

They sell a super bright bulb at the auto part store. If I remember correctly on the package it shows a child on a bike with a car in the background with the reverse lights on.Cartoon or painted caption.

I have the white lightning reverse bar as well and went to www.v-leds.com. They are high, but well worth it. The reverse bulbs will run you about $50. They match almost exactly to the reverse bar. I get compliments all the time on them.
