2005 shedding its paint
My Oxford White 05 SCAB with 50k miles has started shedding paint on the roof!
Flaking off in the bottom of one of the reinforcing grooves and growing out from there. The entire pigment layer is just flaking off from the underlying metal - the flakes are white on both sides. It is as if the paint suddently released its bond to the metal.
The truck is not garaged but is regualarly waxed and I'm not in a "smoggy" area. I don't use automated car washes - just me and my bucket.
Is this a common thing? I'll be visiting my dealer to enquire .. any idea if Ford will even look at this out-of-warranty with no rust involved?

I frequent a number of late model mustang sites and all of them report that for some reason, Ford's white paint blend is suspect to doing this. of course, this has mostly been reported on sn95 mustangs from 94-98. I'm not sure if it's been recognized and corrected yet.
my 04 when i baught it used, the paint was flaking off near the gas cap. I used duplicolor paint to fix it. Also the bottom of my rocker panels, the same thing is starting to happen (and rust) but i guess thats new england for ya!
