That's always the case, you just never know. If you buy to quickly you pay more, if you wait too long for better rebates you'll find a decreased inventory to pick from. The fully loaded ones go fast. I bought mine when gas was $4.19 gallon. It cost the dealer over $100 to fill the tank for me.

The best deal I remember in the past were in November of 2003 wen you could get $10,000 of on a 2003 when the redesigned 2004 was on the dealers lots. Now if you have a 2000 or newer Ford you can get the $3000 owner loyalty bonus added to employee pricing for a max net around $12,000. If that's not enough, then the dealer may throw in a little more to clear out this inventory. I started at $14k off. You'll get the best deal when most others are running away from buying a big truck. It's a game, have fun with it.

Many look at a truck as too risky with rising gas prices. One cold also say that the $12k saving will buy a lot of gas.

Well with the prices of trucks dirt cheap now days and before Ike the gas prices were dropping I thought about upgrading to a 4x4. But if gas stays high for an extended period of time I'll down grade to a car for better gas mileage like a Mustang GT. Worst case would all the way down to a Fusion V6. I'll probale just keep my 05 and put a new set of tires on it later this year since the OEM's are getting close to the tread bars.

The good deals on trucks right now are like houses, you can get a killer deal as long as your not trading a truck in to get it.
There is a local Ford dealer that advertises fully loaded F-150 Lariats for 24K, thing is you cannot use a trade in on those.

I bought my 08 XLT 4X4 SCrew on Aug 21. MSRP was $38K, my OTD was $30,100. But that included $3500 in negative equity. Unfortunately I traded an 08 2wd Frontier Crew Cab and only got $16,900 (bought in Jan for over $25K) so I was upside down $3500. If you drop the $3500 (and ignore the tax change) you wind up with a truck at $26,600. Not bad for a well equipped SCrew. Some areas of the country may have better deals, but locally this was the best I was offered.

Oil dropped below $92 a barrel today. If your looking for a good deal on a truck, ya better hurry before less fuel efficient vehicles start gaining sales momentum again.

New member here...I traded in my 07 GT last Friday for this 08 FX4 screw. Sticker was $39K, I got it for $25K!! Couldn't be happier. It's nice to have a truck again. The GT was awesome but I missed having a truck.....not anymore

Ouch, that makes me cry. I have basically an identical truck in Black. Bought mine back in '05 new and it stickered for 39k also. Only difference is I paid about 10k more than you....

Only thing that makes me remotely happy is that it'll be paid off soon.
