Mine too...

2006 Model with 13K miles on her...bought the truck new in late-December'06, so I've owned it right at 13 months. Been having battery trouble for the last month. I should have taken it in earlier, but just haven't had time.

I was out sick yesterday (Flu-yuck), so my truck sat for 24 hours without being cranked. For my truck, that's odd. Well, today it was deader than a doornail. Nothing is left on that could be draining the battery, so I really don't get it. A jump start cranks her up on the first turn, and as long as the truck runs for a good while, it'll re-start after turning it off.

I have an appointment at my dealer in the morning. The first thing they asked me on the phone was "Do you have any aftermarket parts installed that would be draining your battery?" Well, I have:

1. A remote start. I don't really see how that could be draining the battery. I have a simple 1-button unit, nothing fancy, and it works like a charm. I've had no issues with it.

2. An Edge Evolution. It goes off when the truck shuts off, so not sure how that could be causing the problem.

3. Pioneer AVIC-D3 head unit. Again, this is properly installed and goes off with the truck. (Not to mention, I was having problems before this was installed.)

4. PIAA foglamps on my bull bar. I have a switch on my dash, but the switch is powered by my headlamp switch so that when I turn my headlamps off, the foglamps go off too...thought that would prevent me from accidently leaving them on and running my battery down. The fog lamp switch isn't hot unless I have my factory headlamp switch turned on. I've never had an issue there either.

That's all I've got. I don't run a radar detector, don't run a seperate satellite radio or have anything plugged into the 12V plugs. SO, it beats me. We'll see what Mr. Ford does for me tomorrow. Hopefully it's just a dud battery and they'll give me a new one under my Bumper-to-Bumper and I can roll on down the road...

I just had my battery replaced today. Just under 15,000 miles. Dead again today and almost couldnt get it jumped. Ford tech told me that the battery that was in the truck was not the factory battery. It was a motorcraft but the factory ones didnt have stickers and this one did.

I went to start my truck last night, I got one crank out of the starter then just clicking. The truck has also sat for almost a month, so right now I have the charger on it, we will see what happens. Hopefully it will take a charge and I can put off buy a new battery (Optima) until after my wedding in 2 months, since until then money is alittle tight after paying property taxes, income tax ect.

edit: I forgot to say that I I was not surprized that about this since is hasn't been above 25 deg this last month, high temps have been around 15 to 20 and lows anywhere from -25 to-5..
I also justgot backfrom taking the truck for a 15 mile drive, with the charger on the battery for about 45mins the truck started up like normal. We are going into town to register for wedding presents so we will see if the battery took a charge and will stay charged.
