Question 04+ batteries

Just curious if anyone owning a 04 or newer has already had to replace their battery? I have a '05 that I bought in March of '05. I havent been driving it much since I bought a commuter car to drive to work, but today I was going to drive it and pull my 14' trailer with me so I could stop by Home Depot on my way home and pick up some things. Well low and behold I get in and go to crank it and it drags a couple cranks and then goes to clicking Long story short, I jumped it and drove on in to work. It had been exactly a week today since the last time I started it, so I'm trying to decide if my battery needs replacing or if its just the fact that the thing hasnt been driven much over the past 4 months. I expected the battery would of at least lasted 4 years.

'04 and had to replace it at 45k miles. Truck just wouldn't start one day. I've had the click-click-click before in other vehicals, this one wouldn't do anything at all. Went without any warning. Thank God I was at home.

My '06 just died on me again for the 2nd time! The stock battery blows! I did not drive my truck for 2 days prior, but still, I shouldn't have a dead battery! I know that I could take it for another to the dealer, but I am thinking of getting a Optima Yellow top instead!

Leave the radio on 10 freakin minutes and the truck wont start-screw that-get a yellow top-worth the money

My 04 battery with 34k miles is still going strong. I have a commuter car also so sometimes the truck can sit for weeks. No problem so far. We had a terrible ice storm this week and were with out power for 4 days. I have an inverter that I had hooked up to the truck to watch a little TV and news. Also used the bedlights to do some work in the dark garage. Battery is good and strong and started no problem. I have wondered about the life on it. Most of my other batteries on my other two cars have only been good for 3-4years average. Guess like everything else on these trucks some guys get the good ones and some get the bad ones.

I can't say on mine, just got it. But I did just have to replace my wife's battery from her 05 CRV. While I was at it I priced batteries for the F150 and suprisingly enough, same brand and model, just the size for the F150 isn't much more. I figured that huge battery would be super expensive. Optima Yellow Top though probably when this one goes.

Oh, and I don't drive mine either...public transportation rules for commuting. But it's still cranking fine despite the recent temperature changes.

I guess I got a bad one. That's why I want to get a Optima. I know that I could get another from Ford, but I don't want to go through the same headaches! It's gotten clod here, but nothing below 20 yet and it still killed my battery. BTW? Anyone know the best place to get a Optima Yellow Top? So far, Amazon.com seems to have the best price!

I had to replace my battery a few months ago. It was weird, it rained really hard that night, and both my wife's Caravan and my truck batteries were dead. Her van os an '07, mine is an '04. I jumped her van and it has been fine since. I tried to jump mine, and it would not crank. Went to wally world, got a new battery, and all is well. Go figure.....

Bought mine new back in June of 04', have around 42,000 on it and the battery is still going strong . And I live in a cold, cold, cold, area and it starts strong everyday, even when it's -35ish.

My built 7/03 still has the original battery. I'm planning on it to fail when i'm in the middle of nowhere.

'04 with 43k miles and the stock battery still seems fine. I probably shouldn't have opened my mouth, now it'll be dead in the parking lot when I go to lunch today.

Isnt that when things usually go wrong..

Thanks for the replies guys, I'm not going to go buy a new battery yet, but if it sets for a couple of days and wont crank I guess I will end up having to. BTW, I took a break a little earlier and went out to see if it would crank and it did just fine. Of course it was about an hour drive in this morning and its only sat there for about 4 hours.

My stock battery only lasted about 28K miles. I have a daily commuter and if it sat it would go dead. Replaced under warranty and when this goes bad i'm getting an optima!
