Also, bluetooth requires the Ford Mobile-ease kit or some other kit....it is not just included in the Nav unit.

Basically, without "adding" any other hardware, this Nav unit would give you nav, 6 disc changer, AM/FM and factory functionality of existing controls, speakers, etc.

Does anyone know of a website or have a link to someone who does the reprogramming of the factory nav systems?

I called Mark and talked to him. I think I am going to skip the Z1 cause it will take too much effort to get the rear entertainment system working and use this.

The features I want are MP3 player, Blue tooth for phone, NAV, keep the rear entertainment system, keep the backup sensor, keep the steering wheel controls, keep the sub, etc... I think this will do it. I just need to find out if it will have an AUX for my iPOD and I am golden. If not then I will just use the Rear entertainment system with the RED, WHITE, YELLOW connections.

Price was 100.00 cheaper then listed above! I love this site but it keeps costing me money!
My understanding after calling was that it would work but it would NOT run the 04-06 rear entertainment system. The 07s apparently have a different rear entertainment system.

All the rest of the plugs are just plug and play, meaning they are the same harnesses that you took off you existing HU. Yes, if properly programmed it will work with everything in your vehicle. You will NOT however, gain satellite radio capabilities by simply buying the nav unit. That requires a separate tuner that I am sure you can buy separately and run it's antenna separately. I hope that helps.

Okay, if one already has the factory Sirius satellite on an '06, does one need to add anything else to retain the '06 factory satellite capability? the satellite receiver external to the '06 factory unit, or is it integral to the head unit?

It will run the 04-06 rear ent system that belongs in the rail system. However if you use a rear ent system from another vehicle like an expedition it may need to be configured differently.

ozcar2 the sirius tuner in your truck would plug directly in and work just fine.

efiguero, sirius is an option that you must already have or need to add to the nav, it has the capability to run it but does not come equiped with it.

as far as the 07 all seems to be the same with the exception of the aux jack in the storage tray on the dash, and it is retainable with the nav.

If you have factory Sirius, you will notice the external tuner box when you install the new Nav system. Simply leave it there. Plug all the same harnesses from your old HU into the new Nav unit and the Sirius tuner will work.

***This only applies if you have a factory Sirius tuner already installed. Sirius does NOT come with any of the head units... it is a separate box.******

Excellent. Thank you both for the responses.

What is the recommended process if I wanted to pursue getting a factory Nav system for my 2006 Screw?

Question for those that have the factory NAV system.....after starting the vehicle, the legal disclaimer page comes on the Nav screen and you have to "Accept" to use the Nav functions. What if you don't press anything, does the screen go away in a few seconds, a minute or what happens?

Any way of defeating this "nag" screen?

The unit will not proceed to the nav portion until the accept is pressed. I havent heard of any defeat, and doubt I ever will.

Thanks.

If you don't press anything, and just want to listen to the radio, will the "nag screen" time-out and go to the radio screen? If so, how long does it take?

I was just wondering if you have to touch that "Accept" button everytime you start the vehicle.

I believe if you touch the media button it will go to the radio screen but not until. Just give in and touch the accept button. Touch it! Touch it! you know you want to.

I picked up for $1850 the Pioneer AVIC-N3 and AVX-6P indash 6 dvd changer from kcautosound.com These two units are gonna be awesome double stacked in my dash. In a couple weeks I'm going to pick up the XM Namtraffic tuner, blutooth adapter and ipod controller from him. I too put some hard thought into the factory units but I'm happy with my choice. A hundred times the unit. Pluss with being a fold-out sitting on top of the dvd changer it will sit higher up on the dash for better eye level. I sold my Z1 to my neighbor and went with this combo.

Nothinbutaford,
I checked out your installs and they look great!

I have a quick question that im pretty sure i already have the answer to by reading a few of your responses. i just wanna make sure.

The Ford unit is a direct (besides programming) plug in correct?
So does that mean we have all the speed sensor, direction.. etc already prewired on our 04-06 F150 radio plug?

I ask because i will soon be adding a kenwood nav unit to my existing ddx 6015 and i really dont wanna go chasing down wires on the fusebox/comp. If they are already there then it would make it easier on me.

Thanks
