This has been rehashed elevenity times over.

Some member on here was saying he had a way to make it work, but looking at the wiring diagram and how the system operates, I can't see it working to it's fullest potential without significant wiring modifications. The head units themselves will bolt up and power up, but they won't operate properly since the audio unit in an F150 doesn't run on any of the vehicle networks; the navigation units require network communication for vehicle speed, direction, a signal from the reverse lights, and a few other things that the F150 isn't already outfitted for.

ETA - On a 2007 model year truck, adding navigation may be possible since they were available with nav as a factory option, but I haven't tried it personally. The above is in reference to '04-'06 trucks.

. . or you could buy an Eclipse navigational headunit and be MUCH better off than any factory system!

That'd be the quickest and easiest way if someone's dead set on navigation. And I dunno jack about aftermarket headunits, but I'd imagine they'd blow the factory stuff out of the water any day of the week and twice on Sundays.

Buy an aftermarket rig that you know will work, instead of pulling all your hair out trying to make the factory setup work.

On a side note, the '03-'06 Expedition and Navigator navigation head units won't fit right in the dash of an '04+ F150 anyways. Closest fit would be the Pioneer built unit from a 500 or Montego, and it still wouldn't work right due to the lack of network communication in an F150.

Exactly.. You will pay the same for a factory system, which is very limited compared to the capabilities an aftermarket unit will have..

If you call Dominic Fucile at the Automotive Resource Center he can send you a reprogrammed factory navigation with all the necessary wiring. It is plug and play and works perfectly in my truck. It was also cheaper than the aftermarket solutions that I looked at. You can also send a unit that you already have purchased and have him reprogram it for a fee. But contrary to popular belief, there is no wiring changes needed, just reprogramming of the head unit. By the way....Dom's number is 1 (781) 721-0092. Hope that helps

I fiqured someone would have a knowledgable answer...

Thanks,

Everybody else, the reason I don't want aftermarket is cause I live in Houston, TX...

And every chance someone has they're going to break into cars/trucks...

As Tyrone Biggums stated, " people still do steal radios you know!, how do you think I got this suit!"

I don't have any pics up yet....but it looks like it came with the truck...really nice. I received a nav unit fully programmed for my truck, an antenna adapter, Map DVD, manuals and everything. It had plastic on the screen still. I am not exactly sure what I paid but I think it was around 1600 for all of it. My satellite radio, mobile-ease phone, backup sensors, everything work just fine with it. Even all the DSP modes that come with the audiophile system work as well. It is in fact the exact system that comes in an 07

ford4knox, does the nav unit you have require having the audiophile sub and tweeters or will it work with the "premium" 4 speaker audio setup?
